Scourgestone is a very important material in V Rising that is used to craft magic objects and consumable items. There are several methods that can be used to obtain this crafting reagent, and players should plan to pursue them simultaneously to maximize their Scourgestone acquisition. This guide will provide details on all of these methods, and fans that read on should gain a solid understanding of how to get more Scourgestone in V Rising.
V Rising: How to Get Scourgestone
Crafting
Players will earn the ability to craft Scourgestones in their Furnaces upon defeating Lendra the Shadow Priestess, a Level 46 boss that can be tracked through the Blood Altar. Crafting this material is quite resource-intensive, though, requiring one Whetstone, three Glass, and three Grave Dust in V Rising. That is why this method should just be one component of a fan's overall approach to amassing Scourgestones.
Farming
Scourgestones can also be obtained by dispatching enemies and looting containers at the Church of the Damned in the Dunley Farmlands and the Ancient Villages in the Cursed Forest. These locations have been marked on the following map, and the western Ancient Village is perhaps the best of the bunch for farming the material.
Additionally, the Skeleton Priests and Banshees that can be spawned at a player's Tombs also have a chance of dropping Scourgestones. Survival game fans will unlock the ability to summon these enemies after dispatching Lendra the Shadow Priestess and Foulrot the Soultaker respectively, and the process requires Gem Dust, Highland Lotus, and Sunflowers.
Servants
Servants provide yet another opportunity for obtaining Scourgestones, and players should make sure to incorporate them into their farming strategies. For the uninitiated, fans will be able to start getting Servants in V Rising once they reach the Army of Darkness quest, and they can then be sent out on hunts by interacting with the Castle Throne. Successful hunts will yield a variety of materials, and players should focus on those that can award Scourgestones.
In summary, fans should take a three-fold approach to obtaining Scourgestones, using their Furnaces and Thrones while also farming for it directly. Once a player has used this approach to amass a stockpile of the material, they may want to consider refocusing their farming efforts on the Brighthaven Docks on the west side of the Silverlight Hills. Indeed, this is a great spot for obtaining almost every end-game material in V Rising, aside from Scourgestone, and fans will be rewarded for spending a bit of time there.
V Rising is available in Early Access on PC.
