The world of Vardoran is a wicked place in Sunlock Studios' blood-sucking MMORPG, V Rising. From the second players awaken from their slumber, they're thrust into the nightmarishly gothic countryside, where everything from the wildlife to the very trees themselves are looking to cut one's vampiric crusade short.
V Rising: Best Early PvE Build
Breeze through the early parts of V Rising with this early game build specifically meant for conquering PvE challenges.
Upon successfully felling one of the 57 V-Blood-carrying bosses in-game, one of the numerous rewards players receive is a skill point through which they can unlock a spell within the boss' respective school of magic. Defeating one of the more powerful bosses in the game subsequently opens up the option to unlock one of two spell schools' ultimate abilities. From summoning hordes of exploding arachnids to blasting enemies away with a crimson Kamehameha, these are some of the strongest ultimate abilities in V Rising.
10 Chaos Barrage
Hard To Aim And Slow To Hit
|
Launch 4 Chaos orbs that deal 200% magic damage on direct hit. 100% magic damage to enemies in an area and inflicts Ignite. |

Chaos Barrage is effective against larger, slower enemies in V Rising. However, due to the slow projectile speed and difficulty in aiming, it is less effective in PvP and against the more agile enemies present in the game.
This ability does make up for its shortcomings with its burning-over-time, area-of-denial effects, and knock-back upon hit, but it becomes significantly less useful as the game progresses.
9 Lightning Typhoon
Good Damage But Limited Range
|
Spin around, gaining a 100% fading haste, and shock nearby enemies, dealing 800% spell damage and inflicting Static over 3.5s. Occasionally release sparks of lightning, dealing 40% spell damage and inflicting Static. |

High sustained damage and a decent area of effect make up for what this spell lacks in general range and versatility. The main strengths of Lightning Typhoon mainly stem from its reliability in PvE encounters against groups of enemies.
V Rising: 11 Best Jewelry Pieces, Ranked
Jewelry is more important than just looking fancy. In V Rising, the piece scores are almost as valuable as the rest of the equipment combined.
Knowing when to get the timing right on Lightning Typhoon makes all the difference, however - using it after an enemy Vampire has already dashed guarantees the most sustained damage, as they won't be able to dodge out of it as fast.
8 Army Of The Dead
Great Distraction
|
Inflict Condemn on nearby enemies and summon an army of 5 skeleton warriors and 3 skeleton mages around you. Skeletons last for up to 8 seconds. |

Whether it's distracting the enemies to quickly gulp down a Blood-Rose potion or watching from a distance as one's skeletal army chips away at the last small slither of a boss' health, Army of the Dead is an incredibly versatile spell. That said, in PvP against an experienced player, this ultimate ability can fall short.
Still, the Condemn placed on a target upon casting can be incredibly useful. If enemies die while the curse is active, they will be resurrected as skeleton soldiers. Although the spell doesn't cause immediate damage, it's a great way to stay engaged in combat.
7 Volatile Arachnid
Keeps The Enemy On Their Toes
|
Summon a spider that chases down one's enemy and explodes when nearby, dealing 250% magic damage, inflicting Condemn and spawning 3 spiderlings. Each spiderling explodes, dealing 125% magic damage and inflicting Condemn. |

Volatile Arachnid offers a great means of overwhelming one's enemies. The exploding spiders are fast-moving and deal substantial damage over time. Though the initial larger spider is slightly easier to dodge, when successfully landed, it excels at weakening the enemy.
V Rising: Tips And Tricks For Beginners
V Rising has a very light tutorial that can leave newer gamers feeling overwhelmed by the world around them. Being a pro just takes a few more tips.
Whether it's opening them up for that final finishing combo or pre-occupying an enemy just long enough to regain some health, the Volatile Arachnid is a force to be reckoned with.
6 Raging Tempest
Solid Area Of Effect And Brief Invulnerability
|
Dash forward and bounce between nearby enemies, striking them for a total of 525% magic damage split across targets within the area over 3s. Additionally strikes all enemies in the area up to 4 times, dealing 40% magic damage and inflicting Static—afterward, dash towards one's aim direction. |

This powerful AoE knocks back enemies within its range while dealing enormous damage to those who stay within the circle. It is a fantastic answer to larger groups in both PvE and PvP situations.
One drawback is the spell's stationary nature - it's easy for enemy players to dash out of the way quickly and render the ultimate cast obsolete. Regardless, it's still handy for a brief period of invulnerability and those few initial seconds of damage.
5 Spectral Guardian
A Big Illusionary Giant With A Handy Shield
|
Summon a Spectral Guardian that shields allies in an area for 125% of one's spell power and inflicts Weaken on nearby enemies. The Guardian attacks enemies with a mighty swing, dealing 100% magic damage. The shield is reapplied every 15s, and the guardian lasts for 7s. |

Spectral Guardian is a mainly defense-focused ultimate. Though the guardian deals adequate damage, the strength comes from the shield it applies to the player and their allies.
It's incredibly useful when adequately deployed in PvE, allowing players to get up close and personal with whomever they're fighting. It can fall short, however, due to its limited range and the lack of burst damage stemming from the guardian itself. The main strengths come from the initial guardian swing attack and the player's ability to deal damage to their enemy while shielded.
4 Crimson Beam
Offers A Great Mix Of Damage And Healing
|
Channel a beam of energy that deals 250% magic damage and inflict Leech to enemies hit while healing allies for 200% of the user's spell for up to 3s. Each target hit heals self for 75% of one's spell power. |

Channeling a sustained beam that combines damage and healing, the Crimson Beam's only real downside seems to be its immobilization of the player.
Its potential to heal not only oneself but also allies makes it fantastic for tougher PvE boss fights. Due to its sustained nature, there's a far greater guarantee that it will successfully hit something. Though the player can't move when casting, it can be canceled at any time, meaning that the player can back out if things start to look shaky.
3 Merciless Charge
Get The Drop On Vardoran
|
Charge forward and grab an enemy, dealing 125% magic damage, and push them in front. Deals 125% magic area damage, inflicts ignite and inflicts a stun lasting 2.5s when reaching maximum range or when colliding with another enemy or object. |

Ideal for starting a battle, Merciless Charge is effective for dealing a significant amount of damage when initiating an unpredictable attack, whether it's getting the drop on that pesky boss or starting a lovely PvP exchange.
V Rising: Best Horse Stats, Ranked
Horses in V Rising have 3 stats, max speed, acceleration, and rotation speed, which impact performance. Here's what their best values are.
That said, this spell can be tricky to aim in the heat of battle and is a fairly visually telegraphed attack. Still, it's very effective at dealing a hearty amount of damage while stunning an enemy in front of the player, opening them up to all sorts of attacks. It's a powerful spell, but it's heavily contextual.
2 Arctic Leap
Freeze Enemies And Deal Big Damage
|
Leap into the air and strike down at the target's location, dealing 200% magic damage. A nova of frost erupts from the impact location, freezing any enemy hit for up to 6s. Enemy vampires are frozen for 2s. |

Arctic Leap is a fantastic AoE ability, and its immediate cast time makes it great for use in a "combo attack" against enemy players. However, its longer animation time can give away the spell's approach against more fast-paced foes.
That said, its high initial damage and the spell's capacity to freeze enemies in their tracks make Arctic Leap a dangerously versatile ultimate ability for any encounter in V Rising.
1 Heart Strike
A Powerful Attack And Healing Method
|
Dash forward and strike enemies in a line. Deals 150% magic damage and heals self for 150% of your spell power over 3.5s. A nova of blood erupts when the effects ends, dealing 150% magic damage and inflicting Leech to the victim and nearby enemies. |

|

|

Heart Strike is ideal for battles against groups of enemies and bosses that summon a hearty number of minions. The positioning of the attack can be a little tricky, as it can be easy to miss; however, after players have gotten to grips with the attack hitbox, it's excellent for burst damage.
It can swiftly shift the balance in a battle, in addition to the significant health regeneration it provides. Great for both PvP and PvE exchanges, this spell, though slightly finicky, is a great addition to any vampire's spellbook.
