In V Rising, combat becomes more tactical with the introduction of Weapon Coatings in the 1.1 update. Weapon Coatings are consumables that imbue their next primary attack with one of six elemental effects.

V Rising players can apply coatings to multiple weapons and switch between them to adapt to different combat situations. Here's a breakdown of what each coating does and how to use them effectively.

Here's a complete guide on everything players need to know to unlock the Treasury Flooring in V Rising following the 1.1 update.

What Are Weapon Coatings in V Rising

Each Weapon Coating has a 15-second personal cooldown, while all coatings share a 5-second global cooldown, making weapon-swapping viable but timing-sensitive. Weapon Coatings in V Rising offer powerful burst effects and tactical utility.

There are six types of Weapon Coatings that players can craft using the Alchemy Table. The Alchemy Table blueprint is unlocked by defeating Clive the Firestarter in Act 1 of the game. Clive is level 30, so make sure to have strong gear and weapons to take him on.

How to Get Weapon Coatings in V Rising

V Rising Alchemy Table

Once players build an Alchemy Table, they still need to beat another V Blood Carrier called Stavros the Carver (level 75) to get the Weapon Coatings recipes. The following ingredients are needed to craft Weapon Coatings:

  • Corrupted Flower
  • Venom Sap

Whether they're facing enemy mobs or rival vampires, mastering elemental rotations gives players a deadly edge.

Trips and Tricks to Mastering the Consumable

Open fights with Chaos or Frost Coating to soften enemies or control movement before switching to high-damage or sustain effects. Chaos deals immediate area damage and applies a burn effect, making it ideal for initiating a skirmish or interrupting enemy spellcasting.

Cycle weapons strategically; always have 2–3 with different coatings and manage the short global cooldown to maintain pressure without overlap.

Frost, on the other hand, slows enemy movement with Chill, creating opportunities to kite, disengage, or set up stronger follow-up attacks. Use Blood Coating during longer engagements to heal through Leech and pick up Blood Orbs for added survivability. It's particularly effective for melee builds who need to stay in close and mitigate damage.

Unholy and Storm Coatings are ideal for groups, providing bouncing or persistent AoE effects that can disrupt clustered enemies. These coatings shine when enemies are grouped, allowing players to disrupt and control the battlefield while dishing out high magic damage.
