A thoughtful significant other is giving a Pokemon fan something special for Valentine's Day this year, and fellow gamers may want to emulate the charming gift. The Pokemon gift is a great choice for anyone who is big on the series but not so enthusiastic about flowers.
Pokemon fans and those who love them seem to find ways to integrate the series into just about everything. Considering that series enthusiasts have found many ways to propose to a significant other with a Pokemon twist, it only seems fitting for a couple to celebrate Valentine's Day with a nod to the franchise as well.
Map Shows Where Pokemon Regions Fit in Japan
A Pokemon fan creates a map of where some early game regions would fit on the actual map of Japan and shares their handiwork for others to see.
Reddit user RadiantAntelope shared their Pokemon plans for their significant other, showing a photo of a special Valentine's Day bouquet they've created. However, instead of the usual flowers, chocolates, or even plushies making up a bouquet, they've instead used numerous Pokemon Trading Card game packs. It looks like the bouquet has at least 15 Pokemon Trading Card Game Scarlet and Violet packs. The same fan shared a similar Pokemon bouquet last year, but has this time chosen to integrate a few paper flowers just to spruce it up a bit. The fan notes that they shared their bouquet plans last year, and that many said they thought it was a great idea, so they're posting early this time around so that any enthusiastic fans still have time to create their own for the holiday.
Pokemon Frequently Gets Used to Celebrate
In addition to the aforementioned Valentine's Day gifts and engagement presents, Pokemon fans have celebrated numerous other holidays with the pocket monster battler. One fan celebrated an anniversary with a custom Pokemon TCG card, while others have involved the series while decorating their Christmas trees, throwing birthday parties, and so on. With so many Pokemon to choose from and the long history of the series, there's probably a way to bring a favorite Pokemon into just about any celebration.
With the Pokemon series now being decades old, chances are this gifting trend will continue for the foreseeable future. It may even evolve further for events that are more important to older people, like retiring, or tying Pokemon into classic anniversary celebrations. For example, some of the classic gifts for wedding anniversaries could easily connect to Pokemon types, like Year 4 centering on flowers. The later wedding anniversary gifts involve some of the items that Pokemon titles are based on that could tie in too, like pearl for the 30 years, gold for 50, diamond for 60, and so on. It will be interesting to see how Pokemon gifting evolves in the decades to come.
