Summary

  • Valheim players showcased a stunning Black Forest mansion built with over 6,000 wood pieces.
  • The mansion features Bellows, a Workbench, a cooking Station, a hot tub, and Ballistic Turrets for defense against Troll raids.
  • Mods like Adventure Backpacks and Plant Everything were used to simplify building.

A group of Valheim players has built an impressive Black Forest mansion by clearing out a large section of trees. The Valheim Black Forest is one of the densest areas of the game, and it's rich with resources that these players likely depleted for their mansion build.

Valheim offers players many biomes to explore and build in, including the Meadows, Mistlands, and Mountains. Although some players choose to build in the relative tranquility of the Meadows, others look for a bigger challenge. Players have shared impressive Valheim bases set in the Riverside, Mountain, and Plains. Of all the areas in the game, few gamers choose to call the Black Forest home because of the Trolls that spawn there. A group of players has decided to buck that trend by making a giant mansion in a Black Forest clearing.

Valheim Shows Off the New Biome and Content In The Ashlands Update

Valheim's next major update, Ashlands, receives a gameplay preview displaying the volcanic biome and challenging content that awaits players.

Reddit user Confident-Welcome-74 recently shared six images of their Black Forest mansion that highlight each side. In one image, the player stands on a nearby platform to get an aerial view of the base, while another showcases a massive wall that mostly ensures the structural stability of the mansion. Two screenshots of the inside hint that this could be their main base, as it includes a Valheim Forge with Bellows, a Workbench, and a Cooking Station. One image shows a relaxing hot tub, while every angle of the exterior is protected by Ballistic Turrets, which help the team defend from Troll raiders.

How Was This Mansion Created?

Confident-Welcome-74 estimated that it probably took less than 20 hours to make, and it required over 6,000 wood pieces, which were largely taken from a Meadows biome. They created the base in preparation for the Valheim Ashlands update, which is now available on the public test realm. The Black Forest biome was chosen because the group wanted to have a mansion in dense woods, while the specific location was chosen based on the flat area. According to the gamer, the foundation is 48 by 26 meters, and the design incorporates raised and lowered sections to emphasize the purpose of different rooms. Mods like Adventure Backpacks and Plant Everything were used to simplify the building experience.

While these players created their mansion in Survival mode, Valheim also includes Hammer mode, offering a creative experience similar to Minecraft. As Iron Gate Studio continues to update the game, more resources may be added to help fortify the base further from the Troll threat. There may also be more enemies added to the game in future patches, which could cause Black Forest raids to be more deadly.
