Riot Games released Episode 7 Act 1 for its tactical hero-shooter Valorant on June 27, 2023. As is natural with a fresh content update, especially one on a large scale, it has a few bugs. One of the bigger ones has meddled with the audio, making players unable to hear voice lines from Agents.
While many may not need to hear the dialogues from their own team as they mostly communicate via in-game voice channels or Discord, tracking opponents’ abilities and Ultimate is critical in a match. Since gamers focus on the Agents’ voice lines to discern these, the bug has caused a high level of disappointment. While waiting for the official patch to fix the root cause in Valorant Episode 7, here are a few solutions that have solved this issue for many in the community.
Solutions to Fix the Audio Glitch in Valorant Episode 7
Change Voice Language Temporarily
One of the solutions to fix the new bug in Valorant Episode 7 is simple, and all that players need to do is follow the simple steps given below:
- Start Riot Games’ launcher and head to the Settings menu. Players can access it by clicking on their profile’s icon in the top-right corner.
- Click on Valorant and enter its menu.
- Once there, opt for Live in the Current Patchline dropdown menu to be able to change the language.
- Change to any other language from the dropdown menu and then go back to the main menu.
- Download the small update that appears and run the game.
- After spending a few minutes in-game, go back and repeat the process; players should choose their preferred original language this time around.
- Run the game.
This process has fixed the audio bug in Valorant Episode 7 for many in the community since it simply re-downloads and replaces the corrupted audio files.
Repair Game Files
If the previous method somehow didn’t fix the audio bug in Valorant Episode 7, the next step would be to repair the files of the entire game. The process is simple and involves the Riot Client. Follow the steps given below:
- Launch the Riot Client and click on Valorant.
- There will be an option to repair the game files under the game's destination information. Click on it.
- If the client detects any corrupted or missing files, it will download and repair them.
These two solutions have solved the issue for many gamers. In extreme cases where these don’t work, players will have to reinstall the game from scratch. However, since doing so can take a lot of time, it is advised that they repeat at least the first solution a couple of times, restarting their system between each, before committing to reinstalling Valorant entirely.
Although the introduction of a new Sentinel Agent - Deadlock, the Team Deathmatch mode, and a promising progression system have garnered a positive reception, players have raised concerns that Riot Games needs to address soon. An official date for the upcoming patch fix has not been released yet, but it should be rolled out in a few weeks, as per earlier established patterns.
Valorant is available exclusively on PC.
