Giovanna Grana is a character in Vampire Survivors that players can unlock by finding and opening the coffin in the Inlaid Library. While Giovanna may not be the best character in the game, she is definitely capable of completing a run if she is supported by a powerful build. This guide is here to provide some recommendations for how to build around Giovanna in Vampire Survivors, and it should help players get the most out of her passive ability and starting weapon.

Giovanna's primary strength lies in her passive ability, which grants +1% projectile speed every level. While this may not seem extraordinary, the fact that the passive has no cap means that weapons that benefit from projectile speed can become extremely powerful as the character levels up. The Runetracer and Santa Water are two weapons in Vampire Survivors that are improved significantly by projectile speed, and it is recommended that players pick them up along with their evolution items, Armor and Attractorb.
Fans want to also make sure that they are maximizing the efficacy of Gatti Amari, Giovanna's starting weapon. One significant way to do that is to pick up the Clover, as the cats receive several benefits from increased Luck in Vampire Survivors. More specifically, raising the Luck stat will increase the frequency at which the cats engage in fights and create area-of-effect attacks. Increasing Luck also makes it more likely that the cats will damage enemies, while making it less likely that they damage the player.
Furthermore, Luck affects the frequency at which Floor Chickens appear, and indeed those items increase the attack chance and damage of the Gatti Amari when the cats collect them. All of this together means that Luck is undoubtedly one of the most important things to consider when making a build for Giovanna, and fans are thus advised to grab the Cross, which evolves with the Clover, since they should definitely be taking that Vampire Survivors passive item.
With this foundation established, players can now fill out the build with weapons and passive items that serve as compliments to what has already been selected. The King Bible/Spellbinder and Axe/Candelabrador combinations work very well here, and the Bone is a perfectly acceptable alternative if a player wants to get more from this Vampire Survivors character's passive bonus.
