Vampire Survivors has introduced Patch 1.11, dubbed The Darkasso update, which includes a new stage and relic, some special character skins, five additional Arcanas, and nine achievements for players to discover. The Darkasso update for Vampire Survivors has also fixed some bugs related to Arcana selection, text overflow, and specific issues for each paid expansion.
The latest free update for Vampire Survivors arrives three months after the launch of the game's fourth paid expansion, Operation Guns. As a crossover DLC with Konami's Contra series, Operation Guns introduced new characters, explosive weapons, and new maps for Vampire Survivors players to comb through. Some of the Contra characters that arrived with Operation Guns included series protagonists Bill Rizer and Lance Bean, along with the wolf-like Brad Fang from Contra: Hard Corps. Operation Guns was just the second major part of Vampire Survivors' ambitious 2024-25 Chaos Roadmap, which previously included free updates such as the Laborralory.

Pixel graphics games are both nostalgic and timeless. For anyone fond of this art style, these titles are among the best in gaming.
As part of the Chaos Roadmap, the latest Vampire Survivors update seeks to give players some experimental content to try. According to the Vampire Survivors Steam page, Patch 1.11, dubbed the Darkasso update, is now available for all players to download for free and requires over 170MB of storage space. Players can also dive into a particularly challenging stage for Vampire Survivors called "Room 1665," which can be unlocked via the Secrets menu by typing "forbiddenbox" in the text field. Unlike most Vampire Survivors stages, Room 1665 will see enemies grow stronger alongside the player. In addition, five thematic Arcana cards, dubbed Darkana this time around, can be unlocked via the Randomazzo screen, and function the same as Arcana cards. These can be unlocked by finding the Darkasso Relic at the bottom of the Room 1665 stage.
Vampire Survivors Releases Free Darkasso Update
Two new special skins for Imelda Belpaese and Poe Ratcho can also be obtained by completing two base game Adventures. The Darkasso update for Vampire Survivors arrives just a few weeks before the game launches on PS4 and PS5 on August 29. Poncle previously stated that each PlayStation version of Vampire Survivors would have separate trophy lists, including one Platinum Trophy each. However, collaboration expansions such as Operation Guns will not have Trophy support.
The dev also confirmed that some VS-Experiments will be pushed back to 2025, and provided a screenshot of where the Darkasso update is plotted on the Chaos Roadmap. Between the Darkasso update and the PlayStation launch of Vampire Survivors, fans of the hit indie title still have plenty to look forward to.
