Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 is an action RPG that puts players into the shoes of Phyre, a vampire who existed before the game's story. Players will hunt and prowl around the city of Seattle, which can present challenges of its own, even if you're a legendary vampire with cool abilities. This guide will share some of the best tips and tricks for players that will help with various in-game mechanics and make the overall experience a lot more fun.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delivers One of 2025's Best Stories [Review]
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 picks up where its predecessor left off, but does it live up to the legacy of the cult classic?
Use Rooftops to Travel Faster
Players can sprint at inhumane speeds in Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2, covering long distances within mere seconds. This is a welcome mechanic considering the game does not feature a fast-travel system. While it's a core gameplay mechanic, players cannot just whiz past the streets, exposing their exceptional abilities to the bystanders. So, players will need to rely on rooftops if they want to run at full speed and travel to a far-off location.
Thankfully, it is the most fun way to travel around the city of Seattle. You can use the vampiric sense to detect pipes, emergency staircases, ventilation shafts, and other objects that Phyre can use to reach atop a building. From there, combine the dash, sprint, and hover abilities to cover great distances in a single leap. This is the only way to quickly move around the city undetected.
You Can Use Stealth in Combat Encounters
Due to Phyre's remarkable strength, they can send enemies flying across the room in a single punch. However, for people who're playing on higher difficulties or just love approaching missions stealthily, Bloodlines 2 has just the mechanic for them. When approaching an area with multiple enemies, be sure to crouch down and move around to reduce the enemy detection rate significantly.
To take things a step further, players can invest points in the Shadow Cloak skill if they pick the "Lasombra" class. After acquiring the skill, approach enemies stealthily, feed on them instead of attacking, and Phyre's body will be covered in a dark aura, concealing their presence even further.
Feed on People With Resonant Blood to Unlock Skills
Unlocking skills from another clan's skill tree does not only rely on skill points, but also requires a specific amount of Resonant Blood to unlock. There are three special types of blood in Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 that players will need to feed on to unlock skills.
Use Phyre's Heightened Sense to detect humans that have a specific glow to them. The color of the glow will help you determine which human carries a specific Resonant/Dormant blood type.

Complete Side Quests First
After completing the first few missions, players will come to a point where they'll need to choose whether to hand over Benny to Katsumi or Ryong in Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2. Once you've finally made your choice, side quests will become available on the map, alongside the next main mission.
While players can just focus on main missions, completing side missions is important considering how they'll vanish after particular story events, making them highly missable in your playthrough.
Pay Attention to The Cursor
There are many collectibles and lore devices hidden around various areas in Bloodlines 2 that players will need to find for specific achievements and trophies. The game aids players in this hunt for collectibles through the cursor, which gradually expands as players get close to a hidden collectible. Once the cursor turns red, you'll find yourself in front of the collectible.
It's a unique and quite helpful mechanic that takes the frustration out of finding all the collectibles in an area.
