September 2025 was a big month for games, but October looks equally packed. Fans are itching to get their hands on Battlefield 6, Ghost of Yotei, and Ninja Gaiden 4. Big game releases aside, October can be an important month for the characters who star in these games as well.
Most people born in October will fall under the Libra astrological sign, which means they try to live out their lives by following a balanced routine, and can often be diplomatic. Toward the end of the month, some Scorpios are born, who are very intense and passionate people. These video game characters were all born in October, and while they may not follow these astrology traits exactly, they’re certainly something to consider when analyzing their personalities.

Super Mario Bros.
- Released
- November 17, 1985
- ESRB
- E For Everyone
- Genre(s)
- Platformer
- Birthday: October 11
Surprisingly, Mario does have a birthday, although Nintendo may not stand by it today. In the second issue of Nintendo Power, they list the legendary plumber's birthday as October 11.
It’s a fun fact of days gone by, but whether fact or fiction now, it could be reasoned that Mario is a steadfast Libra. He goes on adventures trying to save others and bring balance to the Mushroom Kingdom while fighting against his nemesis, Bowser. He may not have much of a personality since he can’t talk, but Mario is an iconic character who is known the world over, even outside of the gaming industry.

Vincent Valentine is a secret party member in Final Fantasy 7 who can be unlocked about a third of the way through the game. He looks like a vampire, but he’s more like a Transformer, as his Limit Breaks allow him to transform into monsters temporarily.
Vincent used to be part of The Turks organization of secret agents before being experimented on and stuffed into a coffin. He shows few emotions in any of his appearances in the Final Fantasy universe as a whole, which doesn't quite fit into the astrology alignments, but he is beyond cool in his brooding manner.

Chloe Frazer was first introduced in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves as an old partner of Nathan Drake’s. While it seems at first that she will betray Nathan as a cutthroat thief, she turns out to be a standout companion, even if her loyalties are occasionally in flux. Chloe even got her own spinoff, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which turned out to be another great adventure in the Uncharted series.
There is conflicting info about Chloe's exact birth date online, but her birth month being in October is consistent at the very least, and her adventurous and sarcastic nature could play into the charisma of Libras.

Yukari Takeba is one of the earliest party members to join the fight in Persona 3. Armed with a bow and wind magic, she can deal a medium amount of damage in battle, but she can also sub in for the party’s healer, and she's a strong one at that.
Yukari begins the game a bit unsure of herself, but throughout the story, she learns to be more confident. She’s a romantic at heart and believes in justice, although none of the October astrological signs fit her personality exactly.

Kyoko Kirigiri is one of the supporting characters in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, the first game in the series. Makoto Naegi is the protagonist who must solve a series of grizzly murders in his school, or else his whole class will be executed. Kyoko seems to always know more than Makoto, and the reason why is a bit of a spoiler, so we'll avoid getting into it here.
Her sense of analytics is more of a Virgo trait from the September signs, but her sense of justice could definitely be attributed to Libras. Either way, most players in this detective game will become infatuated with Kyoko's mysterious aura.
Xander (Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest)
A Prickly Prince
Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest
- Released
- June 25, 2015
- Platform(s)
- 3DS
- Birthday: October 27
Xander is one of the main party members in Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest. In this Fire Emblem entry, players can choose to ally themselves with their adoptive family of Nohr, or side with their birthplace of Hoshido. Xander is basically the co-lead as the Prince of Nohr and head of the family.
He’s an ambitious character who tends to show no mercy on the battlefield, which could align with the Scorpio trait of intensity. Either way, this prickly prince is at least respectful of his adoptive brother/sister, along with the rest of his noble bloodline.
Kaedehara Kazuha (Genshin Impact)
A Windswept Samurai
Genshin Impact
- Released
- September 28, 2020
- ESRB
- Teen / Alcohol Reference, Fantasy Violence, In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items), Users Interact
- Genre(s)
- RPG, Action, Adventure, Gacha, Open-World
- Birthday: October 29
Genshin Impact’s whole gimmick as a free-to-play game is constantly adding heroes to the already packed roster that began filling up in 2020. Kaedehara was one of the earliest additions, as he dropped in 2021. He’s a noble and well-meaning samurai who is cool and collected, which doesn’t exactly translate into any of the October signs, except maybe a bit of the balanced nature of Libras.
Genshin Impact: All Playable Character Birthdays
On a Genshin Impact character's birthday, they will send the player a mail with some special gifts, as well as a heartfelt letter for the Traveller.
Astrological signs aside, Kaedehara is a wind-based character, able to slice up enemies with wind magic or his quick-slicing blade. Players will be lucky if they manage to get him from the gacha machine.
