Summary

  • One Piece anime returned with a new late timeslot
  • Switching the timeslot has increased overall viewership
  • Fans are excited for upcoming battles in the Egghead arc

The One Piece anime returned in April after a long hiatus. The main reason behind the anime's break was that the studio wanted to maintain the standard. When the anime finally returned, there was one major change, and it was related to the timeslot. Instead of the early timeslot, One Piece was put in a late slot.

This change to broadcasting has been rather beneficial, and it has been confirmed by Mayumi Tanaka, the voice actress of Monkey D. Luffy. She revealed that switching the timeslot has increased the overall viewership. Of course, it has only been a few episodes since the anime's return, but so far it looks promising.

One Piece Anime Picked Up Where It Left Off

When the One Piece anime went on a break, fans were disappointed that they wouldn't get to see another episode until 2025. However, they understood the importance of the break, as it was necessary for the hardworking staff at Toei Animation. The people working on the anime were producing insanely good episodes every week, and they deserved to rest.

Some fans were skeptical about whether the studio would actually maintain the same quality after the break, and it's safe to say that their worries have been unfounded. So far, four episodes have been released, and none of them have lacked in terms of animation.

The only complaint that fans have is related to the inclusion of new and unnecessary scenes that Toei Animation has added to certain episodes. In Episode 1124, the studio added scenes that affected Sanji in a bad way. One of the changes included the addition of a flashback, which showed that Nami rescued Sanji from the Seraphim. On the other hand, Zoro was shown taking down two of them with zero difficulty. Hopefully, the studio stops this practice of putting such scenes in episodes.

One Piece Fans Should Brace Themselves For The Upcoming Episodes

kizaru egghead one piece return

One Piece's Egghead arc has entered its second and final half. So, fans can expect to see many enthralling battles that are bound to keep them on the edge of their seats. In fact, a massive fight between Kizaru and Luffy will be covered in Episode 1126.

Judging from the preview, it seems likely that it will be nothing short of a spectacle. There will likely be some extended scenes to give viewers a better idea of the powers of the two fighters. The fight is expected to last for two episodes, so the next episodes are going to be amazing.

One Piece is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
