What to Do With the Colored Crystals in Visions of Mana
When you first stumble upon colorful crystals in Visions of Mana, it may seem that they don't have a purpose, as you will not be able to interact with many of them, to begin with. However, these crystals hold elemental powers relative to each and every one of the Elemental Vessels in the game, meaning that once you have unlocked the corresponding Elemental Vessel, you can harness these crystals to gain Elemental Points.
Many of the crystals you find in earlier sections of each map will not be available until later, as you naturally obtain each Elemental Vessel as you progress further through the story. Don't forget to fast-travel back to previous locations to scout for crystals and farm extra Elemental Points - it can make all the difference for prepping your characters for difficult encounters, such as endgame bosses or Ancient Ruins.
Elemental Points are used to purchase new abilities and complete progressions in the Elemental Plot menu. This is a very beneficial resource, as it will provide your characters with brand-new buffs and elemental abilities or attacks that can really take their skills in combat to the next level.
To open the Elemental Plot menu, press the ESC key to open the menu interface. From here, simply scroll over to the Elemental Plot tab, and hit confirm. This will open the menu, where you will now be able to purchase progressions for each character from whatever elements you currently have unlocked.
