Clans are an integral component of Warframe's multiplayer gameplay, giving players a whole host of people to call on when in need. Joining a clan is something almost all Warframe veterans will recommend straight away to new players, as not only does it offer a helping hand, but gives players access to the Clan Dojo Labs, which allow Tenno to build several powerful weapons and Warframes.

Warframe: Best Weapons For Beginners

Warframe is home to a vast array of weaponry. For those just starting out, however, these are the best weapons available.

By

This list looks at the strongest weapons available from the Clan Dojo's various labs, ranking them by how high priority obtaining them should be. Many of these weapons have upgraded variants that players can obtain later in the game, and these are listed with their relevant weapons. However, their base editions are well worth getting for any newer players.

9 Pyrana

Automatic Secondary Shotgun

  • Acquired through research in the Tenno Lab
  • Important Stats: High base damage, High base multishot

The Pyrana is a fast-firing secondary shotgun that bursts through enemies with its predominantly slash-based damage. This makes the Pyrana incredible for dealing with low-armored enemies such as the Corpus or Infested. However, its high base damage is counteracted by its steep damage falloff and short range.

The Pyrana has a Prime variant available later in the game through relics or trading. This variant increases the weapon's critical stats, range, and reload at the cost of some damage and a slower fire rate. Overall, the Pyrana and its Prime variant are great options to supplement a predominantly longer-ranged primary weapon by offering reliable close-range damage.

8 Okina

Dual Sai Melee Weapons

  • Acquired through research in the Tenno Lab
  • Important Stats: High attack speed, Movement speed boost while wielding, Incarnon genesis available

The Okina are some of the coolest-feeling melee weapons in Warframe, being dual sais that can be researched through the Tenno Lab. The Okina excels at incredibly quick attacks, boasting a 1.08x animation speed while attacking and a boost to movement speed while wielding them. Dealing predominantly slash damage, the Okina can tear through lower-armored enemies with little resistance.

Okina Prime is available to those willing to farm relics or trade with other players, and acts as a direct upgrade to the Okina in every way, from attack speed to overall damage. Both versions are able to be upgraded through Incarnon Genesis, which boosts their damage and gives the weapon access to an Incarnon form, which spawns spectral daggers that attack nearby enemies.

7 Dorrclave

Blade And Whip

Warframe Dorrclave
  • Acquired through Dagath's Hollow
  • Important Stats: 26% Critical Chance, 2.20x Critical Damage Multiplier

Being Dagath's signature melee weapon, the Dorrclave is available from Dagath's Hollow and provides a unique healing bonus while being wielded by Dagath. For any other Warframe, the Dorrclave is a powerful sword and whip combo weapon which have a unique trait that gives bonus follow-through and status chance for 10 attacks after every 10 kills.

With a high critical chance and multiplier, the Dorrclave is a great option for anyone looking to build into a strong critical hit melee build. While this isn't the most popular strategy for melee weapons currently, with Melee Influence providing a huge bonus to status-based melee weapons, the Dorrclave is definitely one of the more entertaining melee options out there.

6 Arca Plasmor

Plasma Shotgun

  • Acquired through research in the Energy Lab
  • Important Stats: Very high base damage, Infinite punch through

The Arca Plasmor is a unique energy-based shotgun that fires out wide pulses of radiation with an infinite punch through, making it a room-clearing machine. The Arca Plasmor has no bonus headshot damage and a low critical chance percentage, making it a weapon best suited for dealing with groups of smaller enemies rather than taking on bigger targets.

An upgraded variant of the Arca Plasmor is available from the Sisters of Parvos adversary system. The Tenet Arca Plasmor is a huge upgrade, providing increased critical and status chance, higher damage, and the chance for shots to ricochet off walls. The Tenet Arca Plasmor is an endgame staple for many players, however, its base variant is a great starting point and much easier to obtain through the Clan Dojo Energy Lab.

5 Nikana

Tenno Katana

  • Acquired through research in the Tenno Lab
  • Important Stats: Good slash damage

The Nikana is possibly one of Warframe's most iconic melee weapons, being the space-ninja edition of the traditional katana. With good slash damage, the base Nikana is available early on through the Tenno Lab and provides any player with a decent early-game melee weapon. Where the Nikana truly shines is in its alternate forms, with the Dex Nikana and Nikana Prime being direct variants and the Dragon Nikana being a technical upgrade while counting as its own unique weapon.

Most players will eventually gain access to the Dex Nikana, as it is available simply by logging in during Warframe's anniversary event each year. While the Nikana Prime is a larger power bump than the Dex Nikana, the free and easy-to-obtain nature of the Dex Nikana makes it an easy recommendation for any player, provided they log in during the anniversary event.

4 Ignis

Grineer Flamethrower

  • Acquired through research in the Chem Lab
  • Important Stats: 27% Status chance, Infinite punch through

The Ignis is Warframe's iteration of the classic flamethrower, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. The Ignis spews a continuous barrage of flames, dealing heat damage, making it great for dealing with groups of enemies in a confined area. With a high fire rate and status chance, the Ignis is great for hitting enemies with a large number of status effects.

The Ignis Wraith is the Ignis' upgraded version, and is also available through the Chem Lab in the Clan Dojo, or from the void trader Baro Ki'teer. The Ignis Wraith boasts an increased magazine size, critical chance, and status chance, making it a direct upgrade and one worth getting if a player's clan has access to it.

3 Ocucor

Corpus And Sentient Beam Pistol

Warframe Ocucor
  • Acquired through research in the Energy Lab
  • Important Stats: 24% Status chance, 12 attacks per second fire rate

The Ocucor is one of the most used secondary weapons in the game, combining Corpus innovation with some Sentient technology to create a powerful beam of radiation. What draws so many players to this gun is its unique trait, causing Sentient tendrils to erupt from the weapon and attack enemies near the aiming reticle.

With a high status chance, this weapon is a great alternative to guns like the Kuva Nukor or Epitaph, which are harder to obtain and fill a very similar role. While the Ocucor may not be the most powerful status damage weapon in the game, it is a great choice for anyone looking for something a little different.

2 Dual Toxocyst

Infested Dual Pistols

Warframe Dual Toxocyst
  • Acquired through research in the Bio Lab
  • Important Stats: 37% Status chance, Incarnon genesis available

The Dual Toxocyst is an interesting pair of dual pistols acquired through the Bio Lab. A huge reason to use the Dual Toxocyst is its unique trait, which gives it increased fire rate and toxin damage upon getting a headshot, while giving the weapons infinite ammo for a short duration. This brief moment of increased power puts an already powerful weapon over the edge, making the Dual Toxocyst by far the strongest secondary option from the Clan Dojo.

The available Incarnon Genesis for this weapon turns them from a semi-automatic pair of pistols into a fully automatic, bullet ricocheting damage hose, clearing rooms of enemies with ease. Thanks to its predominantly puncture-based damage and the extra toxin damage given by the unique trait, this weapon's Incarnon form can easily deal with any size group of enemies.

1 Torid

Infested Grenade Launcher

Warframe Torid Cropped
  • Acquired through research in the Bio Lab
  • Important Stats: High base damage, Incarnon genesis available

The Torid has become one of the most famous weapons in Warframe history thanks to its Incarnon genesis. At base, the Torid is an infested grenade launcher, firing grenades that leave lingering clouds of damage behind wherever they impact, dealing decent damage over time. Once the Incarnon form has been activated, however, the Torid becomes one of the most powerful beam weapons in the game, chaining to multiple enemies and dealing ridiculous amounts of damage.

Warframe: 29 Best Warframes Everyone Should Know

Digital Extremes's Warframe offers plenty of combat units, some of which are better than others. What are the best Warframes in the game?

While this weapon does require the Incarnon form to reach its full potential, investing in it early is a great way for any player to set themselves up for late-game success. Compared to any other Clan Dojo weapon, there really is nothing quite like the Torid at full power, and it is a must-have for any player looking to make endgame content a little easier for themselves.
