The Bulwark Class in Space Marine 2 acts as the sword and shield to protect his battle brothers from the Tyranids and Heretics that they will face across challenging galactic Operations, and as such, they are one of the best classes in Space Marine 2. With so much versatility and recent additions to Prestige, players are going to want to know which Prestige Perks to invest in their Bulwark.
Space Marine 2: 6 Tips For The Best Co-Op Builds
If players want a better chance at surviving and claiming victory in some of the hardest Operations in Space Marine 2, these tips are for them.
The Bulwark has 7 Prestige Perks unique to its class that will aid in the Bulwark’s total performance in some of the hardest difficulties, so players will want to look below to see which of the best Bulwark perks in Space Marine 2 they should prioritize.
7 Rally Point
Removes Toxic/Corruption When Using the Chapter Banner
- Chapter Banner additionally removes negative Status Effects while active
The Chapter Banner is the Bulwark’s Class Ability, allowing them to hold ground with their allies and slash through the unending hordes for as long as they can, and with the right perks, the Chapter Banner can aid in healing and damage at the same time. However, the Rally Point Prestige Perk doesn’t really do much of anything, and it’s not worth a Prestige rank just to get.
Since players can only pick up one perk per Prestige, the Rally Point is one best avoided since all it will do is remove the negative Status Effects that come with Toxic and Corruption, which are rarely acquired anywhere, and even when they are acquired, it’s not an immediate urgency to remove them.
6 Resilience
Heal 40% More from Medicae Stimms
- Medicae Stimms restore 40% more Health
Medicae Stimms can often be found throughout the looting sections of Operations, but higher difficulties render the Medicae Stimms almost worthless with the amount of healing that they can provide. While armor can regenerate naturally, health cannot, but that doesn’t mean Resilience is worth using, even if 40% more health seems enticing.
Space Marine 2: All 8 Abilities, Ranked
Each class in Space Marine 2 has a distinct ability that can be used effectively to save the day and claim victory against Tyranid swarms.
On higher difficulties, health drains faster when getting hit without armor, but the benefit of using a Bulwark is that parries and other methods of attack can keep the situation controlled. Wasting a Prestige Perk on more health from Medicae Stimms seems wasteful just to feel allured with more security to health that the Bulwark doesn’t need.
5 Standard Bearer
Become Invulnerable for 2 Seconds by Using Chapter Banner
- When Chapter Banner activates, you become Invulnerable to Damage for 2 seconds
Standard Bearer could be a decent choice for players to use, as it allows players to become invulnerable to damage for 2 seconds upon activation of the Chapter Banner. Using the Chapter Banner is always a good idea, acting as a rally point for Bulwark and allies alike as they hold ground against enemy hordes and Extremis foes, which is why an upgrade could be what players need.
Being invulnerable for 2 seconds doesn’t sound like a long time, but it’s plenty of time to place a Chapter Banner at a fallen ally to revive them, or even throw one down to use Melta Charges on overwhelming swarms, and tank a hit from dreaded boss fights.
4 Auxiliary Reload
Earn 1 Magazine by Killing Extremis Enemies with Melee Weapons
- Melee kills of Extremis-level or higher enemies restore your Primary Weapon's Ammo by 1 Magazine
The Bulwark relies mostly on their melee weapon of choice, but it’s always a good idea to use a Primary Weapon against ranged foes and those that are too risky to smack with a sword or Power Fist. With Auxiliary Reload, players are going to have more ammo to handle in their favorite weapon, whether that’s a Bolt Pistol, Plasma Pistol, or more.
Killing Extremis-level enemies with a melee weapon is going to provide a refilled magazine for the Primary Weapon, and since the Bulwark’s main method of attack is their melee weapon, acquiring a melee kill on an Extremis foe isn’t going to be hard to do, and it’s going to mean they do not have to rely so heavily on a resupply thanks to this Prestige Perk.
3 Overcharge
20% Damage Buff to Charged Melee Attacks
- Charged Attack Damage increases by 20%
Some of the best melee weapons will have a charged attack, and by taking Overcharge into the battle, players will increase the damage of that weapon’s heavy attack by 20%. 20% extra damage is quite a lot, especially on higher difficulties where every shot and punch counts, which is why the Power Fist becomes even more powerful and easier to spam when paired with this damage buff.
Space Marine 2: 5 Best Melee Weapons
Charging into battle with a brutalising melee weapon is a thrilling time in Space Marine 2, so be sure to bring the best.
Charged Attacks are great for handling all varieties of enemies, especially with how they blast through the competition, so it’s a decent idea to bring Overcharge along for the ride for those who have the Prestige Perk Slots to spare.
2 Masterful Defence
Restore Chapter Banner Charge By Blocking Ranged Attacks
- Ability Charge is restored by 1% for every blocked Ranged Attack
Ability Charge is what grants the Bulwark the ability to use the Chapter Banner, and as such, finding ways to restore that faster than other Classes is going to be essential for staying alive and spamming the Chapter Banner to ensure that players are always ready to face off against incoming swarms. Luckily, Masterful Defence can do just that.
Masterful Defence will provide players with a 1% charge for the Chapter Banner if they block a shot with a Ranged Attack. Considering so many ranged enemies have guns, simply standing still with the shield raised briefly will see players receive their Rally Banner ability much faster than most other classes.
1 Powerful Shot
Increase Pistol Damage by 20%
- Ranged Damage increases by 20%
Since the Bulwark’s main weapon is the melee weapon of choice, players are going to want something that deals with enemies that are a little further away. For that, it’s advised to take one of the best Primary Weapons, whether that’s the Bolt Pistol, Heavy Bolt Pistol, or other selections that can be found. While these weapons hit hard with the right perks, they can be made even better with Powerful Shot.
Powerful Shot increases the damage of these ranged Primary Weapons by 20%, which is a great damage buff to have to fight against all sorts of enemies when players aren’t in the mood to swing a sword or punch through Tyranids, as the Primary Weapon is often the best weapon to use against Extremis and boss enemies.
