Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has released a new update just two days after launch, and while it's not a particularly large patch, it does fix some early problems that players have been having. The hotfix for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 should address a variety of irritating bugs, including several that have resulted in crashes at specific times, especially early in the game.
The highly anticipated hack-and-slash shooter was officially launched on September 9. Featuring multiple co-op PvP and PvE modes of play, Space Marine 2 became an instant hit on Steam, registering a quarter-million players in its first 24 hours and currently showing an 80% approval rate among fans on the platform.
Space Marine 2 Need Better Chaos Customization
It's a shame that there aren't any additional armor pieces for the Traitor Astartes in Space Marine 2's PVP mode. I would've loved to make an entire roster of Plague Marines. Hopefully, more cosmetics get added in the future as Saber expands the game.
The newest patch for the game, Hotfix 2.1, was released on September 11, and addresses crashes and a number of other bugs. The update eliminates some early game crashes that have been reported either at startup or during the opening cinematic cutscene, as well as several others that players have been experiencing. It also addresses some bugs in Space Marine 2 that have been preventing player progress in the game's story mode.
While the patch may not be filled with Earth-shattering new content, the notes indicate that players will want to keep a lookout for a larger update later in September. Listed among the Space Marine 2 features that Saber Interactive would like to see added to the game before the month's end are ultrawide support, private PvE lobbies, and the addition of a new Sparring Arena in the Battle Barge, although the notes also leave the door open for other surprises.
Despite some early game crashes and softlocks, the game has been very well received among the community, already breaking Warhammer 40,000 franchise records for its concurrent player count. Although Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 suffered a review bombing campaign during its early access period, largely due to the data collection policies listed in its end-user license agreement and its automatic installation of Epic Online Services, this hasn't been able to cost the game its 'Very Positive' rating among Steam users.
