Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 features a vast arsenal of Primaris Marine weapons, from the trusty Bolt Rifle to advanced plasma weaponry that can melt the enemies of humanity with ease. Players will get the opportunity to wield these weapons of war throughout the Ultramarines' campaign against Xenos and Chaos, but not all of them will be available right from the start.

Unlocking gear is part of the game's core experience, especially in the co-op and PvP modes. If you're itching to try out the best weapons in Space Marine 2, here's what you need to do to get them.

In the campaign mode, players can pick up and use any Astartes weapons they find in the level. After you finish the first mission, Skyfire, you'll be able to pick your loadout in the Armouring Hall before heading out on your next deployment. Weapons are unlocked as you progress through the campaign, though some might have different unlock criteria. You can view these unlock requirements at the loadout screen in the Armouring Hall.

Armor customization in the campaign mode is limited to picking pre-made costumes and skin sets. Fans of WH40k will be able to wear the colors of their favorite Astartes chapters once they unlock the Operations & PvP modes in Space Marine 2.

Weapon options for campaign missions may change according to the mission itself, as per the Magos in the Armouring Hall.

In the game's co-op campaign, players begin with all weapons unlocked for each of the classes. They'll start in their base forms, and you'll unlock more advanced tiers for them as you gain Weapon XP, which is earned through normal gameplay. More difficult missions offer more XP upon completion.

Meanwhile, armor sets are unlocked simply by successfully completing missions regardless of difficulty, and once you unlock a set, you unlock its individual armor pieces as well. Victories in the Eternal War PvP mode also count towards this.

Upgrading Weapons

Once your weapon tier levels up, better versions of that weapon will become available. However, you'll need to spend Armory Data, the main currency of Space Marine 2, in order to unlock the new tier and weapon versions. These are also earned by completing missions and collecting Servo-Skulls — Artificer (purple) and Relic (gold) Armory Data are earned only in Threat Levels Substantial and Ruthless respectively.

Perks and Mastery Points

Leveling weapons up also unlocks perks for those weapons, though you need to spend Mastery Points to activate them. You can earn Mastery Points by playing the game and leveling up your chosen weapon, or by spending an Armory Data point to max out the weapon from the Armouring Hall.
