Explosive weapons can be devastating in Warzone 2 DMZ. The game's current lineup of rocket launchers has proven especially good at catching people off guard. However, these weapons can be hard to use due to how cumbersome they are, especially in close quarters where missing a single shot can easily spell the end of a run.

This is where the RGL-80 comes in. Unlike the PILA or RPG-7, this semi-automatic grenade launcher is perfect for clearing rooms full of undesirables. It can fire up to six shots in a salvo, making it an amazing weapon for taking out certain objectives and bosses. Such power comes at a price, however, and like all things in Warzone 2 DMZ, players are going to have to work hard to get one of these for themselves.

There's only one place where players can find this grenade launcher—Building 21. Specifically, it drops from Velikan, the same playable operator from the original Warzone who now appears as a boss NPC.

Velikan himself uses the RGL-80 in combat, which means players are going to have to take him down if they want the weapon. He is fairly tanky for a Shadow Company mercenary, and he comes with his own squad of heavily-armed goons who provide covering fire for him. Combine this with the fact that the RGL-80 is one of the best weapons for clearing tight quarters, and players will find a recipe for disaster.

One strategy for killing Velikan as quickly and painlessly as possible is to use stun and flash grenades. While he is disoriented, walk up behind him and perform a takedown by pressing the button that appears on the screen. This will instantly kill him and cause him to drop the RGL-80. Once he's dead, it's only a matter of finding an exfil point and making it out of Building 21 alive. Peppering him with small arms fire will work, but it can be risky.

Velikan spawns randomly around the map, though he tends to appear in the middle atrium complex. Regardless, a message saying that he is nearby will appear whenever he spawns, so be on the lookout and keep an ear open for consecutive grenade explosions in the distance. He might engage with other players who are also trying to take the gun away from him.

The RGL-80 cannot be modified, and it will always be a Contraband weapon. It is needed for the Firing Power faction quest, which involves killing Velikan again but with the grenade launcher.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
