Warzone and Modern Warfare 2’s ping system is an excellent addition to the multiplayer matchmaking, allowing effective communication between teammates. The system has become a valuable tool for securing match victories, as players can instruct each other without saying anything in the voice chat.

Warzone and Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer battle royale can be intense and aggressive, and only teams with excellent communication and a winning strategy succeed. With the ping system, players can take their matches to the next level and take down enemies with ease.

How to Ping Enemies in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2

To ping enemies in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, aim at the enemy player and press the associated ping button to cast a marker over them. The associated ping button varies depending on the platform used to play. For PC players, click the set key bind for pings to cast the ping marker over the enemy. Usually, it’s the middle mouse button or the Alt key. Players can change this key to suit their preference from the Settings tab. PlayStation and Xbox players can hold up the D-pad on the console while aiming the weapon at the enemy to ping them.

How Does the Ping System Work?

After pressing the associated ping button on the gaming console or PC, a distinct red diamond appears on the enemy’s head, visible to other teammates. This marker allows team members to join to help take the enemy down, and players can change the color of the ping. However, the red diamond icon will only appear if the enemy remains in the exact location they were pinged. If they happen to move, the red icon disappears. It will also disappear if they move out of sight. To ensure the pinged enemy doesn’t disappear, players should quickly surround them after the ping.

In addition to pinging enemies, Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 allow players to ping locations, loot, and warning signals. For example, if one player comes across a location on the map with valuable items, they can signal other players to get the loot. To do this, hold down the ping button to prompt a menu and select the Loot option. Alternatively, if a player wants to warn others about a particular location so they can avoid or investigate it, they can simply select Watch ping from the menu.

Other valuable ping buttons players can use are the Attack ping, which signals teammates to move in and kill a foe, and the Re-group ping, which tells team members it is time to get close and regroup. Players can find all these ping options by holding down the ping button.
