Summary

  • Wednesday Season 2 could focus on Wednesday's opinion of social media, showcased through humor and interactions with her family.
  • Storyline could involve Wednesday discovering her stalker through social media platforms, including creating fake accounts.
  • Enid and Wednesday may collaborate on a social media project, exploring the dynamics of sharing personal lives online.

It's almost time for clever Wednesday Addams to come back to the small screen, make more sarcastic comments, and continue not caring what anyone thinks. Thanks to the recently released teaser trailer, when Netflix's Wednesday season 2 arrives in August and September 2025, fans know Jenna Ortega's beloved character will be ready to stand on her own two feet again at Nevermore Academy. When Wednesday season 1 wrapped up in November 2022, The Hyde Monster/Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) had been caught, Wednesday learned she had a stalker, and Nevermore students were taking a break. Now that some time has passed, everyone is ready for a fresh start.

As Wednesday says in the teaser trailer, she's glad to return "to the scene of the crime." But, although she's focused on a fresh mystery, the popular prickly character should think about another topic: social media and the Internet.

Wednesday Season 2 Should Humorously Explore Wednesday Addams's Opinion Of Social Media

Wednesday season 2 should share Wednesday Addams's negative opinion of social media and also include a few jokes about how confused she is by people's obsession with their phones. In the Wednesday season 1 finale, "A Murder of Woes," Wednesday sits in the backseat of a car and holds a smartphone. When she gets a text message from a mysterious character, she realizes she has a stalker. While there are many fan theories about the stalker's identity and it will be fun to find out who it is, it's also hilarious to imagine Wednesday spending time online now that she has a smartphone.

Since Wednesday doesn't care about being popular, she would no doubt hate the idea of getting likes on a social media photo or having a video go viral. Maybe she could come across a video of her memorable season 1 dance to The Cramps song "Goo Goo Mucks." This would make her angry and frustrated as she wouldn't want strangers commenting on part of her life.

If Wednesday season 2 provided some commentary on how people interact with their phones and social media, this would also be an opportunity to feature more members of the Addams Family. Wednesday could talk to her parents Gomez (Luis Guzmán) and Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones) about their social media accounts, and there could be a memorable and witty montage of every Addams Family member's online profiles. These popular characters would definitely have hilariously dark accounts, and it's easy to imagine them getting drawn into various forums about their respective interests and hobbies.

It would also be interesting if Wednesday convinced other Nevermore Academy students to stop sharing so much online and enjoy life offline more. She could debate the merits of living a private life vs. Oversharing with other students, perhaps ones played by some of Wednesday season 2's new cast members. Wednesday has always felt like an old-fashioned character, especially since many remember her most fondly from the 1990s Addams Family movies. There's no doubt that she would dislike the idea of spending all of her time online. She would much rather focus on writing her novel or find new ways to terrorize her brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez).

Wednesday Season 2 Should Also Include A Social Media Storyline

Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair

Since Wednesday season 2 will be about Wednesday's stalker, it would be fun to see a plotline where Wednesday tries to find out who is spying on her via social media. Maybe she finds an online forum where Nevermore Academy students chat, or perhaps she sets up a fake account in the hopes that her stalker will find it. Then, she could post about her location and could set her stalker up. The stalker could also post anonymous clues online, which would bother Wednesday but also motivate her to keep up her investigation.

Wednesday and Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) could also work on a school project together where they have to run a social media account or make a viral video. This would be a fun, creative, and different kind of project. This would suit the tone and vibe of Nevermore, which isn't a regular school. Since Myers said that Enid is tougher in Wednesday season 2, Enid could stand up to Wednesday and say she genuinely enjoys sharing her life on her social media accounts. It would be funny to see them arguing about this subject. While this definitely wouldn't be the main storyline of Wednesday season 2, it would be a fun addition.
