Netflix's Wednesday season 2 is almost here, and a new trailer promises a major mystery that Jenna Ortega's clever and sarcastic Goth teenager has to solve.
Wednesday premiered in November 2022 and saw Wednesday Addams (Ortega) starting a new life at Nevermore Academy, a welcoming place for young vampires, shapeshifters, sirens, and werewolves with special powers who don't fit in. She quickly gets involved in the major mystery at hand and figures out the identity of the Hyde Monster while saving herself, her peers, and her family. All eight episodes of Wednesday season 1 showcase the character's quick wit and biting sense of humor while introducing viewers to her kind-hearted roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), her smart classmates Eugene Ottinger (Moosa Mostafa) and Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday), and bringing back beloved Addams Family members like Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Now, as Wednesday season 2's premiere is less than one month away, fans can check out the official trailer.
Wednesday Season 2 Can't Let Wednesday's Story Be Drowned Out By New Cast Members
Wednesday season 2 will come back to Netflix in 2025, and Wednesday Addams needs to be the focal point of every episode.
Netflix's Wednesday Season 2 Trailer Finds Jenna Ortega Back At Nevermore And Hints At Enid Sinclair Being In Danger
The Wednesday season 2 trailer opens with Wednesday Addams back at Nevermore Academy, but this time, she's a hero. As Morticia Addams tells her, "This is the first time you've ever willingly returned to a school," Wednesday's peers celebrate her actions from season 1. She meets the new principal, Barry Dort, played by Steve Buscemi who calls her "the savior of Nevermore," and her new classmates ask her for autographs. Although Wednesday is bored by the attention, it's hilarious to see how everyone is reacting to her. Then, as some eerie yet playful music plays, the big mystery of season 2 is hinted at: Wednesday has a vision of Enid Sinclair telling her:
"I die because of you!"
The rest of the trailer promises a fun, exciting, and dark Wednesday season 2 as Wednesday embarks on a journey to save Enid's life and solve the mystery. Wednesday explains that she's in trouble, too:
“The sooner I get answers, the sooner I can save Enid. Or die trying.”
Fans had hoped for more storylines featuring Wednesday and Enid this season as Enid is such a beloved, smart, and likable character. It's a joy to watch the two characters since they're polar opposites. Previously, Emma Myers teased that her character becomes stronger and tougher in season 2, and from the Wednesday season 2 trailer, that definitely seems to be the case. While Enid has maintained her happy-go-lucky and go-with-the-flow kind of personality, she's inspired by Wednesday's confidence and has become bolder, too. Although the season 1 finale ended with Wednesday's stalker texting her, it looks like the second season will center around Wednesday figuring out why Enid is about to die. Wednesday season 2 also features a new villain: the Kansas City Scalper, played by Haley Joel Osment, who will likely be part of this plotline.
Other Wednesday season 2 characters include Grandmama (Joanna Lumley), Pugsley Addams (Issac Ordonez), Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán), Dr. Fairman (Thandiwe Newton), Capri (Billie Piper), and Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin. A common criticism of the first season is that there wasn't enough focus on the Addams Family. Thankfully, showrunners and co-creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough have promised that Addams Family history will be examined in the second season.
Wednesday season 2 part one will premiere on August 6th, 2025, followed by part two on September 3rd, 2025.
