Summary

  • Wednesday Season 2 teaser promises a thrilling and fascinating ride in August and September 2025.
  • Fans look forward to Addams Family characters, disappointed by lack of Tyler in the trailer.
  • Tyler's role in Season 2 remains mysterious, but fans anticipate his dynamic with Wednesday.

Netflix's Wednesday season 2 will be here in August and September 2025, and while it's been a long wait for these new episodes, the teaser trailer promises a fascinating and thrilling new ride. At the end of season 1, Wednesday went back home for a while when Nevermore Academy shut down after the terrifying evil plan of Marilyn Thornhill/Laurel Gates (Christina Ricci) and the Hyde Monster. Now the break is over, and Jenna Ortega's beloved character is back in action.

Although the trailer isn't very long, fans got a look at some favorite Addams Family characters, including Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez (Luis Guzmán), and Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez). However, the Wednesday season 2 trailer doesn't show Lady Gaga, and another character could have been featured more.

The Wednesday Season 2 Teaser Trailer Needed One Wednesday/Tyler Moment

Fans loved seeing Wednesday Addams again in the Wednesday season 2 trailer, and it's clear that the new episodes will be as chilling, funny, and unique as the first season. Redditor @dizzi800 called it:

"Campy fun!"

Redditor @montybo2 echoed that thought and wrote in the same thread:

"S1 was solid campy fun with an incredible cast. Cant wait to see them come back!"

But, while it's a thrilling trailer, it would have been great to see Wednesday Addams and Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) together, even for a moment. While Tyler is shown briefly, it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance. One of the biggest questions about the second season is what Wednesday and Tyler's relationship will be like. Are they going to battle against each other, or will Wednesday forgive him for everything he did as the Hyde Monster? Even just seeing a look of anger or calmness on Wednesday's face would have helped fans anticipate what's coming next. Sure, the show must have some huge reveals and shocking plot points, but it's also fun to tease what's up ahead.

While the Wednesday season 2 teaser trailer would still of course have kept Tyler's storyline a mystery, it would have been nice to get a brief glimpse of these two characters. Since the new episodes are being released in 2025, which is almost three years after season 1, fans have waited a long time to find out more about the next part of these characters' journeys. It's hard not to feel a bit disappointed that there was no brief tease of Tyler and Wednesday's new dynamic.

A teaser from early 2025 showed Tyler at Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital, and the recent trailer could have shown Wednesday visiting Tyler. Or perhaps Tyler gets out and shows up at Nevermore Academy, which would be unsettling and intriguing.

However, the teaser trailer still offers plenty for fans to look forward to. There is a hilarious scene of Wednesday playing with creepy dolls in front of her roommate and friend Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers), which allows the series to lean into the killer doll trope from horror movies. Wednesday is also shown at the airport, and it will be interesting to learn where she is coming home from.

Hunter Doohan Briefly Talked About Tyler's Role In Wednesday Season 2

Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) and Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) in Wednesday

In February 2023, Hunter Doohan commented on playing Tyler Galpin again in Wednesday season 2 at the event Gold Meets Golden. He told Entertainment Tonight:

"Coming back. Can't really say anything else besides that, but I'm so excited to go back."

The actor mentioned that Tyler is no longer hiding a huge part of who he is in the same interview. This was definitely one of the most haunting and memorable moments of season 1. Doohan said:

"I'm really excited, because now that Tyler's secret is out of the bag, I'm excited for season 2 to kind of explore him fighting between the monster and the real version of him. And also, he doesn't have his master, Christina Ricci, anymore, so what's he gonna be like? I don't know."

It will definitely be great to see whether Tyler decides to become even darker in the second season of the hit Netflix series, or if he wants to aid Wednesday on her quest to stop evil from ruining Nevermore Academy. Either way, it looks like the vibe of Wednesday season 2 will be as funny and grim as season 1. Anyone nervous that the new episodes won't capture the same spooky and humorous magic likely feels better after seeing the trailer.
