Otis will consistently call Frank with various scoops through Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, which act as side objectives that can be ignored without immediate consequences should you be focusing on something else.

Like all scoops, there is a time limit which ends up only being a few minutes of real-world time. Should players decide to make it to the location of a scoop, they will often find a survivor in need of help. During the scoop, "The Coward", players will meet Gordon, who will refuse to move; here's how to get his attention and talk to him.

The Dead Rising series is known for letting players wield some of the most bizarre weapons in gaming history.

How To Talk To The Coward In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

The Coward can be found in McHandy's Hardware in the Al Fresca Plaza, found along the southern section of the mall, right next to where you found Burt. In the hardware store, head to the back right corner and go behind the counter to find Gordon cowering in the corner. He will refuse to talk to Frank no matter how many times you try, so instead you'll need to get his attention with force.

To get Gordon's attention, you'll need to hit him a few times then try talking to him again. After two or three hits, try to talk to Gordon again, and he will listen to Frank and agree to follow. The issue with escorting Gordon is that he is still a coward, and will often cower in fear when faced by zombies. To keep him alive you'll need to protect him much more than the average survivor, and give him constant commands so that he stays focused on running.

Be sure to use a weak object that doesn't deal much damage, like the nearby cardboard boxes or just your fists.

Survivor-Based Achievements In Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster

Frank Standing Over Gordon While He Cowers From Zombies

While Gordon may otherwise seem useless against the zombies or exploring the mall, there is an achievement for escorting eight survivors at once, and Gordon can be one of those survivors. Having that many survivors at once can also leave more people to help defend Gordon against any zombies and let you focus on other things instead of babysitting.

There are many achievements for saving various amounts of survivors, along with reaching the max level, which is 50. While Gordon can be a little annoying to deal with, the rewards for saving him and getting him back to the Security Room are well worth the effort if you're going for trophies.
