What Does Arcane Do In Elden Ring Nightreign?

Your Arcane stat boosts the overall effectiveness of status effects done by your weapons, sorceries, and incantations. Your Arcane stat can increase how much build-up is done for any status effect, making them trigger more often. Status effects can be hit or miss, as some enemies can be resistant to a status effect, and the buildup will occur a lot less often. There are multiple status effects that players can utilize in Nightreign:

  • Scarlet Rot
  • Poison
  • Bleed
  • Frostbite
  • Sleep
  • Madness
  • Death Blight

A lot of weapons come with status effect build-ups, and if you're using one, it may be worthwhile to invest in your Arcane stat. Through relics, you can also give your starting weapons a status effect bonus, in which case it may be worthwhile to just upgrade that weapon throughout the expedition instead of finding new ones.

Is Arcane Worth It In Elden Ring Nightreign?

Every Nightlord has a weakness that can be exploited, and some of those weaknesses are status ailments. Arcane can be a very worthwhile upgrade as long as you know a Nightlord's weakness and are specifically targeting it. Arcane can also be worthwhile on more general builds, such as Bleed builds, as a lot of enemies in the game can be inflicted with Bleed. The following classes are great choices for Arcane as long as you have a weapon or spell that causes a status effect:

It's best to find a relic that gives a status effect boost to your starting weapon, to make sure you always have one that can be upgraded should that be your only option. Of the classes listed above, the Executor is by far the best with the highest Arcane base stat scaling, and his starting weapon is a katana that has the bleed status effect.
