What Happens to Extra Shovels After New Year’s Treasures Ends

In Monopoly GO, shovels from digging events are super useful. Instead of turning into cash like other tokens, leftover shovels become dice rolls. And as you know, dice are the most important resource in the game that players need to roll on the board.

The conversion rate is the same as before: each shovel (or pickaxe) gives you three dice rolls. So, if you have 13 leftover tokens after New Year’s Treasures, you’ll get 39 dice rolls. Earning these shovel tokens takes a lot of time and effort, so it’s nice that they’re still valuable after the event ends.

The New Year’s Treasures Monopoly GO event wraps up on January 3. The quicker you beat your treasure hunt, the more tokens you’ll have left, which means more dice rolls for you.

How to Get More Shovel Tokens for New Year’s Treasures in Monopoly GO

Players can grab shovel tokens for New Year’s Treasures in different ways. The Friendship Pays event gives up to 174 shovels, and the Firework Frenzy tournament offers another 156 tokens.

The Friendship Pays event requires fans to collect pickups from the board, and the leaderboard tournament asks them to land on the Railroad tiles to score points. In addition, you should complete your quick wins and collect gifts to earn more tokens.
