While exploring the world of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, players will encounter environmental hazards and BTs along their path that can delay cargo deliveries. However, these aren’t the only challenges one might face. There’s always a chance that the player may become careless or fall into a river, resulting in the loss of both cargo and backpack.

What Happens If You Lose Cargo/Backpack in Death Stranding 2?
In the case that you lost your cargo as well as your backpack to a strong river current or something else, do not worry, as the cargo will keep on pulsating, showing the location. This allows you to track down the cargo and grab it back. However, if you are unable to get your cargo back, you can simply head back to the centre or storage location where you got the cargo from. Firstly, select the Delivery Terminal option, and you can find the option here to fabricate your backpack. This will require materials, and you don't have to worry about losing your customizations, as you can restore them.
For the cargo, you must press "Start" on your controller and press the left D-pad to enter the Ring Terminal. Select the Orders option, and here you can see which order you are currently on and the option to redeploy the cargo. Doing so will transfer the cargo to the Private Locker of the facility where you accepted the order.
How to Get Stolen Cargo Back in Death Stranding 2
While trying to fight bandits inside an enemy camp, there is a possibility that you might get knocked out. In this situation, any cargo that Sam has will be stolen by the bandits, and you will be transported to a garbage dump. All the weapons you were carrying will also be taken, so if you plan on getting your stuff back, you’ll need to rely on stealth knockdowns. To locate the stolen cargo, open your map or use L1 to analyze the enemy camp and find a MULE Postbox.
The MULE Postbox can be hacked, and upon doing so, you’ll find all your goods inside, ready for the taking. However, be cautious, as hacking the postbox can leave you vulnerable.
Make sure you’ve cleared out the surrounding area before going in for the hack.
