When you’re climbing through the unforgiving terrain of PEAK, you'll come across all sorts of strange and intriguing objects, some of which might seem completely out of place. One such item is the Big Egg. The Big Egg may look like an environmental prop, but it actually serves a purpose that can help you on your climbing adventures. This guide covers exactly what a Big Egg does and why you should care about finding one in PEAK.
PEAK: How to Get Infinite Stamina
Stamina is what keeps you going in PEAK. Interestingly, there’s a way to get infinite stamina which makes it pretty easy to get a successful run.
What Does the Big Egg in PEAK Do?
While the Big Egg may look like a consumable at first glance, you can’t eat it directly. However, if you drop or throw a Big Egg, it will break open to reveal a regular edible egg. You can eat this to reduce hunger, and if it’s cooked, it gives a small stamina boost as well.
Interestingly, if you cook the Big Egg first and then throw it, the egg inside will come out already cooked in PEAK. This means you won’t need a fire later. This is also a safe way to avoid cooking hazards in dangerous areas like Caldera’s lava zones. A cooked egg is especially useful if you’re low on stamina and can’t risk a full stop.
Apart from this, eating the egg from a Big Egg is the final requirement for completing the Gourmand Badge, assuming you’ve already eaten a Coconut, Yellow winterberry, and Honeycomb.
Since you can’t return to Alpine once you enter Caldera, make sure you’ve eaten (or packed) the other required foods beforehand. That way, you can enjoy your victory meal and claim the badge before reaching the summit.
Where To Find Big Egg in PEAK
Big Eggs can be found exclusively in the Caldera biome of PEAK, which is the fourth biome you’ll reach. Once you enter Caldera, keep your eyes peeled for nests perched on top of rock formations. This is where the Big Eggs usually spawn.
These nests are usually located on high ground, and while the lava levels in Caldera fluctuate, you won’t need to worry about the eggs falling in and getting destroyed. Each nest can contain at least one Big Egg.
The locations of these nests can change, so each run offers new opportunities to hunt them down. Staying on higher terrain and scanning the rocky peaks will give you the best shot at finding Big Eggs.
