What Does the Warp Compass in PEAK Do?

The Warp Compass is a rare and mysterious item that doesn’t behave like your standard compass. Unlike the basic Compass, which shows cardinal directions, or the Pirate's Compass, which points toward unopened luggage, the Warp Compass has a far more unpredictable and chaotic function: teleportation.

The Warp Compass doesn’t help you find your way in the traditional sense. Instead, it flings you across the map, with little to no warning about where you’ll end up. When used in multiplayer mode, it can even warp you to one of your teammates.

While this may sound like a helpful feature, especially when you’re lost or need to regroup quickly, there’s no way to control which teammate you’ll warp to. You might land near someone who’s close to the summit or someone still stuck in an early biome. Even though it sounds risky, this can be incredibly convenient if you’re separated and in trouble.

At the time of writing, the Warp Compass is currently disabled due to a few bugs. In solo mode or under certain conditions, it caused extreme glitches, like teleporting players to random spots, including under the map or into broken terrain. It has been temporarily removed, and its mechanics may be reworked or changed entirely when it’s eventually reintroduced to the game.

When Should You Use the Warp Compass in PEAK?

Given its unpredictable effects, the Warp Compass is best used with caution. It’s not something you should rely on during serious attempts to escape the island or complete challenging climbs. Instead, save it for experimental runs. It’s perfect for players who are just looking to have a bit of fun with the game’s more unusual mechanics.

If you’re stranded, far from your team, or simply feeling adventurous, using the Warp Compass might give you an unexpected shortcut or result in a complete disaster.
