No ARPG is complete without a leveling system of sorts, and Titan Quest 2 has a couple of systems in play that determine how strong players can get. The game doesn't stray far from the things that made classic ARPGs so fun to play, and that applies to how players level up over the course of the campaign.

Leveling up in Titan Quest 2 is fairly standard — blow up monsters, get XP, and repeat. Still, there's a limit to how limit to how many levels players can earn with their characters, and if you're curious as to what the level cap is, here's a brief overview of the game's leveling system and more.

Titan Quest 2: Level Cap

Titan Quest 2 fissure

As of writing, the max level in Titan Quest 2 is 40. Keep in mind that this is for the early access launch version of the game, and it's very likely that it will increase later on. For those who didn't play the base game of the first Titan Quest, the level cap there was 75, and the launch of the anniversary edition bumped that up to 85.

Ability Level Caps

Skills in Titan Quest 2 can also be leveled up, and that means they also have level caps. Active skills have an upper limit of 17, while passives can only go up to 8. Additionally, players can invest up to 18 Divinity points for each skill tree they have, though this will definitely increase as the game is updated since the final skill tier for each class is yet to become available.

All skills in the game can be fitted with modifiers, and similar to above, active and passive skills have different caps for how many modifiers can be equipped:

  • Active skills can have up to five different modifiers.
  • Passive skills can have only two modifiers.

Active skill modifiers work on a point system, with each point represented by a shield. Equipping and upgrading a modifier can cost either one or two points, and players get only 10 points to work with per skill.

What's the Endgame in Titan Quest 2 Early Access?

Titan Quest 2 rituals of Ares options

There are currently no endgame systems in Titan Quest 2 early access. The amount of content in the game as of the early access release is fairly limited, though there is some degree of replayability to be found.

Once players reach Pyrgos Village, they'll be able to perform Rituals of Ares, which gives them the following options:

  • Increase or decrease the level of enemies
  • Raise the level of enemies in low-level areas to match the players'
  • Respawn bosses

The world of Titan Quest 2 does not scale off the player's level, which means there will be areas where enemies are much harder to take down. By performing Rituals of Ares, players can customize the game's difficulty in exchange for Gold. These adjustments can be made at any time, but due to the significant Gold costs, doing so will likely drain your in-game wallet very quickly.
