The Ranked Player mode was first introduced to COD in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2, and ever since, it has become a fan favorite.

Ranked Play is expected to arrive in Modern Warfare 3 during the Season 1 Reloaded, which is in January 2024. COD devs have not yet confirmed an official date for the Ranked Play MW3 release. However, since Modern Warfare 3 Season 1 will kick off on December 6, it's estimated that the Season 1.5 (Reloaded) update will arrive sometime in January 2024.

Call of Duty revealed these details during a COD Next Event. They plan to modernize the Ranked Play in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 before launching it in MW3 mid-season one. The MW3 Ranked Play will feature different division placements and new unlocking rewards. It will also feature updated MW3 maps, loadout, and weapon content.

What is the Ranked Play Mode?

Ranked Play is a stand-alone, feature-packed mode that follows COD League-approved restrictions, modes, maps, and rules. The mode allows players to earn rewards across multiple Skill Tiers and Divisions for the chance to beat opponents and earn their spot as the best MW3 player. Players will play matches like Hardpoint, Control, and Search and Destroy in a 4v4 format.

Like in MW2, MW3’s Ranked Player will be highly competitive, and only the best can claim match victories. Call of Duty will feature the top 250 players on the Leaderboard and Division board, giving players bragging rights and a chance to show off their expertise. Modern Warfare 3 pro players familiar with matches like Search and Destroy have a chance to shine and showcase their prowess with Ranked Play.
