During spring in Fields of Mistria, you'll be able to catch fish you wouldn't normally find in the other seasons. You'll get different types of fish depending on the size of its shadow and the body of water you're fishing in (i.e: lake, river, ocean). For some fish, you'll also need to keep an eye on the weather conditions, too. The Walleye is one of these. Currently, you don't need the Walleye for any side quests in Fields of Mistria as of the 0.12 update. You'll still want to catch one if you intend to collect all the rewards from the museum.

How to Get Walleye in Fields of Mistria
When to Fish for Walleye
The Walleye is a river fish that only appears in Spring and only when it rains. You can catch it during a regular storm or a thunderstorm. While you can't change the weather directly, you can check the forecast by examining the crystal ball item you get as a reward for Juniper's "Stinky Stamina Potion" side quest. If it's supposed to rain, you'll see an image of a storm cloud in the ball. The Walleye is a common fish and appears as a large shadow.
Don't confuse large shadows with giant shadows. The fish you obtain from giant shadows on rainy spring days will net you the Paddlefish. You will need to donate a Paddlefish to the museum, but if you're fishing for strictly a Walleye, you should avoid the giant shadows.
Rivers can be found in The Narrows, The Eastern Road, and on your Farm:
- The Narrows: There's a river below Erol's house, and a river on the western side of the area.
- The Eastern Road: You want to fish in rivers for Walleye, not ponds. So if you're searching on the Eastern Road, fish in the river where you rebuilt the bridge ("Repair the Bridge" main quest).
- Farm: The water surrounding your farm is a river and will yield river fish.
How to Get Walleye with Summon Rain
Farm Only
Having trouble getting a rainy day? You can use the Summon Rain spell on your farm to change the fish to rain-exclusive fish. Summon Rain is the second Magic Spell you'll receive from Caldarus, and it's unlocked when you've reached the Tide Caverns section of the Mines. It requires one sphere of mana to use. You can Pin the spell in the menu, then use the C-key to use it. Summon Rain is primarily used for watering crops, but it's a good way to find rain/snow-exclusive fish and/or bugs that can be found on your farm.
The effects of Summon Rain will wear off if you leave the farm or go indoors.
Before using Summon Rain, you'll want to look for any large shadows in the river circling your farm. Then you can use the Summon Rain spell. Keep in mind that although Walleye are common, their appearance rate may be affected by other "large shadow" river fish (ex: Pike). If you've fished up all large shadows on your farm during a Summon Rain spell, you will need to leave the area to "refresh" the fish, then use Summon Rain again. If you don't have any mana for another Summon Rain, you'll have to start your day over.
Unfortunately, the Summon Rain Spell only works on your farm.
Fields of Mistria: Request for Crystal Berries Guide
Crystal Berries are a forage item in Fields of Mistria, and you'll need them to complete the "Request for Crystal Berries" side quest.
