How to Join Velvet Shade in Where Winds Meet

Where Winds Meet Velvet Shade-1

There are two ways to join the Velvet Shade sect in Where Winds Meet:

  1. Get married, divorce immediately, wait 24 hours to finalize the divorce, then receive an invitation
  2. Automatically receive an invitation by reaching a certain number of Elegance in WWM

As of writing, the Elegance points method is either bugged or not yet included in the global version of the game, so we don't know how many points are needed. Usually, you just have to equip your fanciest cosmetics, and Velvet Shade will reach out to you. But if that isn't working for you, you'll have to try the divorce method instead.

How to Join Velvet Shade By Divorcing in Where Winds Meet

First, to get married in WWM, you need to reach "Companionship" Intimacy level with someone, then choose the "Partner Request" option in the Social menu to visit Shi Yimo in the Red Maple Forest to form a partnership. Right after you marry someone, you need to divorce them as soon as possible.

Thankfully, this bit doesn't take long, as you only have to speak with Shi Yimo again and pick the "Sever Partnership" option, and reaching "Companionship" Intimacy level doesn't take that many gifts.

However, now you have to wait 24 hours in real life before you can revisit Shi Yimo to finalize the divorce for good. Once you do, the invite to join Velvet Shade will be in your inventory, and you only have to follow the short quest attached to finally pick the option to join the Velvet Shade sect in WWM for good.

If, for some reason, you don't get the invitation from Velvet Shade in your inventory after finalizing a divorce, we recommend restarting the game and rechecking your inventory. And if that still doesn't work, you'll have to marry and divorce again to try and get the invitation to appear.
