In Where Winds Meet, leveling up a character is a complex and tiring task, more so when players figure out that Level Caps exist. Players may be confused about how to progress their characters beyond these barriers. In truth, the game itself doesn't explain how to manage this, and the sheer amount of information displayed on the interface and the numerous menus of the game is extremely overwhelming.

But players shouldn't worry too much, as in this guide, they will find the correct way to Break Through Level Caps, and how to unlock further progression of their characters in Where Winds Meet.

How To Break Through Level Caps in Where Winds Meet

The first time players level up past a certain point in Where Winds Meet, they will hit a cap (Level 15) in their Character Level, which corresponds to Tier 1 or Level 1 of the Solo Play Level. Solo play levels are the way to progress through the world of the Main Story of Where Winds Meet, and are distinct from Social Levels, which are the level caps of the Multiplayer Part of the game.

Once players have reached Level 15, it's time for a Breakthrough Challenge. Follow these steps to complete this challenge and unlock new progression levels in the solo mode:

  1. Press Ctrl to free the Mouse cursor, and go to the Symbol on top of the screen.
  2. Press that symbol to open the Mode Menu.
  3. Select the Solo Mode Tab.
  4. Select Solo mode Level
  5. In the new screen, select Breakthrough or press 'Spacebar'
  6. The player will be immediately transported to the Breakthrough Challenge.

These challenges might vary in difficulty, but they are almost all about the same: A survival battle against three waves of enemies, and the last one always brings an Elite or Boss-type enemy. Once players defeat all three waves in a time limit (10 minutes), they will be able to break through the Level Cap, and keep progressing their adventure in the Solo Mode.

The enemies from the breakthrough challenges will keep increasing in difficulty, so make sure to keep up with the Martial Arts Level (Gearscore) to be able to defeat them. If players fail a Breakthrough challenge, they can still try again later.

Where Winds Meet Social Level Explained

In the same menu where players found the Solo Mode Level (that is, the Mode Menu), there's another tab that is labeled as 'Online Mode' this mode has a Level of its own, which increases accordingly to how much time it passed since the start of each Milestone in the game.

This means that the Online Mode levels increase automatically every few days, unlocking new opportunities for players to enjoy in groups, such as Multiplayer Campaigns. These challenging activities will require players to form groups, and mind their builds as some are good for Tanking, others for DPS, and others for Support.

In that sense, Where Winds Meet is not so unlike other MMORPGs, though it has a few extra layers of complexity that can be confusing at first. To participate in these Multiplayer Campaigns, there are some restrictions, such as the overall Martial Arts Level, which is displayed in the Build or Develop Menus. The Martial Arts Level is increased by enhancing combat skills, Mystic Arts, unlocking Melodies of Peace, and Talents, as well as training in new forms of Inner Ways (passives), and sect Martial Arts.
