In Where Winds Meet, there are many ways to progress your character's level and the Main Story, but Melodies of Peace are a mystery for most players. Some of them might have already found Oddities like the sneaky Dagger General, the elusive Ironwing Mantis, or the dangerous Enchanting Lotus. The problem is: What to do with them?
In this guide, players will learn about the value of Oddities, and how to exchange them for Stat Boosts, and special feature unlocks in the Harmony vendor Qi Sheng. From how to find these special items, to how to trade them for unique unlocks, here's a full step-by-step on how Melodies of Peace work in WWM.
Updated, December 30, 2025: By Luke Simons: Where Winds Meet Global Server approaches its end-year closign event, and players have a new opportunity to earn lots of rewards while they look around for collectibles (Oddities) in the Qinghe, Jianghu, and Kaifeng regions. This update includes the location of each Oddity Trader in Where Winds Meet, so for those who have completed their Qinghe collection and are roaming the Jinaghu and Kaifeng Prefecture, they will find the detailed information noted below. Good luck on your hunt!
Melodies of Peace Explained: How To Find Oddities Trader Qi Sheng
Qi Sheng is a trader who offers special services in the Qinghe Region, in the starting zone of Where Winds Meet. He is located in the northern side of the Verdant Wilds. His stall is placed between the General's Shrine Landmark Teleporter and the Wayfarer Camp, where players obtain their first Map. Talking to him will complete a special Quest called Melodies of Peace, which is also a tutorial for the system with the same name.
This system allows players to trade Oddities (Collectibles) for special unlocks in the Harmony perk tree. These unlocks can be Stat Boosts (HP, Precision, Critical, Base Damage), Special Martial Arts Manuals, Inner Way Passives, and certain Quest Items related to World Unlocks, like the Bronze Bell Fragment needed to repair the Demoncalm Bell (weakens World Bosses).
This is one of the best ways to unlock upgrades for the main character in Where Winds Meet since unlocked nodes will add to the overall stat values and increase the players' Martial Arts Level (Gearscore), allowing them to participate in more activities. Especially for beginner players who are just starting their adventure, since these stat boosts will help them survive the challenging Bosses of the Main Mission.
To unlock every node of Harmony in Melodies of Peace, players need to invest a certain number of specific oddities found in the Qinghe Region:
- Talk to Qi Sheng and Select: Submit Oddities.
- Select any of the nodes, and check the requirements in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Players can select: Add All (pressing F) or Activate (Spacebar) to unlock the node.
Each node has a specific associated effect, for example, The Music of Laiyi unlocks +4 bonuses to Minimum Physical Attack. That enhances the minimum threshold of damage caused with every attack, and the overall physical damage caused (DPS).
Every completed node of Melodies of Peace is a permanent unlock, players cannot deactivate them once unlocked. The only way to activate every node of Harmony is to find every collectible in the Qinghe Region.
What Are Oddities And How To Find Them
Oddities are special collectibles that players will find while roaming the Qhinghe region, and each of them has an associated mechanic for collection. For example: the Dagger General (grasshoppers) are hidden in rocks or boxes that need to be destroyed. The Enchanting Lotus will prevent players from collecting them by secreting Miasma, unless they destroy the clouds of Purple Butterflies shielding them.
Below, there's a full list of all collectibles found in the Qinghe Region, and the associated mechanics to collect them:
|
Dagger General |
Found hidden in piles of rocks, boxes, barrels, crates, and other breakable objects. |
|
Enchanting Lotus |
Players need to eliminate Purple Butterfly clouds to approach and collect them. |
|
Ironwing Mantis |
It will flee when players approach it. Chase and capture it before it flees. |
|
Redmist Beetle |
They spawn above Red Fungi circles. Players need to glide, double jump, or fall from higher ground to pick them. |
|
Whisper Hive |
Found on trees, ledges, cliffs, and other high grounds. Shoot with a Fire Arrow, then climb to collect from them. |
Oddities can be found scattered all across the Qhinge region, and can be found in almost every quadrant of the map (except for Dungeons). Remember that Oddities only spawn once, so when players collect them, they should go ahead and deliver them to Qi Sheng to unlock new Harmony nodes.
For the Kaifeng (Jinaghu) region, players will need to look for a new set of Oddities that can be delivered to Bai Ji in the northwestern corner of Kaifeng City (inside the temple). Here's every Oddity in Kaifeng and how to obtain them:
|
Midnight Nibbler |
Found hidden in piles of rocks, boxes, barrels, crates, and other breakable objects. Destroy and pursue them to catch. |
|
Moonbeam Toad |
Similar to the Ironwing Mantis, but much faster. Some of these require players to use the lightness skill to catch. |
|
Osmanthus Twig |
Players need to shoot birds carrying these Twigs to make them drop them to the ground, then collect them. |
|
Swallow's Rest |
Usually placed in high ground, on rooftops, and in trees. Climb and claim them by interacting with the nest. |
|
Thunder Fluff |
Interact with the plant, then run towards the fluff before it touches the groun to catch it. |
Similar to the Melodies of Peace Qhinghe, the Kaifeng collectibles will unlock stats, Martial Arts resources, Manuals, and Inner Path pages that players can use to improve their characters.
