Morale Chant is an Inner Way in Where Winds Meet, providing players with an all-around universal buff that is useful no matter which path they end up taking. Morale Chant can be obtained very early on in the campaign, but requires a significant investment.
This guide covers Morale Chant’s location, how to buy it, how to upgrade it, and whether or not it is suitable for your build in WWM. Here’s the breakdown.
How to Get Fivefold Bleed Inner Way in Where Winds Meet
Fivefold Bleed is a decent source of bonus damage in Where Winds Meet. Here's how to get it.
How to Get Morale Chant in Where Winds Meet
Morale Chant Inner Way can be purchased for 5000 Echo Jade from Tang Bao Weiyang Merchant in Blissful Retreat in the central Qinghe region of Where Winds Meet (shown above).
Echo Jade is mainly obtained through the campaign, exploration, Daily Tasks, Events, Battle Pass, and Exchange Codes.
After you've purchased all 10 Morale Chant Pages from Tang Bao, open your Bag (B) and find the pages under “Develop.” Click on them to bring up the context menu and select “Comprehend.” Now, you’ll be able to equip Morale Chant by going to Develop (H) -> Abilities -> Inner Way.
Tang Bao Missing Fix
In certain world states, Tang Bao’s map marker does not show up on the map, which gives players the impression that he is missing from the world. However, that is not the case. If you fast-travel to the Blissful Retreat Boundary Stone (pictured above), you’ll find him right next to the gate, in the same location as where he always is.
How to Upgrade Morale Chant in Where Winds Meet
Like all other Inner Ways in Where Winds Meet, Morale Chant starts at Tier 1 when you first acquire it. To breakthrough to higher tiers, you’ll need to:
- Reach Solo Mode Lvl 4 by breaking through level caps.
- Use Morale Chant: Notes (Inner Way upgrade materials).
Morale Chant: Notes can be acquired from the following sources:
- Season Shop: Buy Inner Way Note Chests from the Season Shop for a chance to obtain Morale Chant: Notes.
- Zhou Feiyan’s Warehouse: Buy Inner Way Note Chests from Zhou Feiyan’s Warehouse in Kaifeng City for a chance to obtain Morale Chant: Notes.
- Tang Lun Weiyang Merchant: Located in Kaifeng. Sells 10 Morale Chant: Notes for 200 Echo Jade each.
- Energy Challenge Gameplay: Complete Outposts Challenges, Sword Trials, or campaign missions to get Inner Way Note: Custom Chests. These allow you to obtain a Note from your chosen path or a random legendary Note from any path (Morale Chant is a legendary Note).
- Tips Exchange: You can recycle unwanted Inner Way Notes to obtain Vintage Bookplates, which can be used to purchase specialized Inner Way Tomes that only contain a select subsection of Inner Way Notes. To access Tips Exchange, go to Develop (H) -> Inner Way and click on the Tips Exchange tab at the top. You can recycle Inner Way Notes by clicking on the currency icon at the top of this screen and clicking on “Tips Recycle” under How to Obtain.
Is Morale Chant Worth it in Where Winds Meet?

Morale Chant Effect |

80% chance to gain one stack of Yi River when attacking or healing. Increases Physical Damage and healing by 1% for 8 seconds, stacking up to 5 times. The chance to gain Yi River is only calculated once every 2 seconds. |
Yes, it is. Morale Chant is one of the only Inner Ways that works with basically every build in Where Winds Meet. The buffs provided by the skill benefit DPS, Tanks, and healers, making it universally useful. It’s a passive, always-on buff that offers a 5% Physical Damage Boost. While 5% doesn’t seem all that much at first glance, it has to be remembered that this buff is always active. As long as the player is doing something, stacks of Morale Chant will rack up.
Granted, there are certainly Inner Ways that provide more specialized benefits catered to certain builds, making them a higher priority to acquire for those builds. However, since players have four Inner Ways slots to play around with, it’s likely they’ll always have a spot reserved for Morale Chant in their loadout. Additionally, players who aren’t sure about which path suits them the best in WWM can invest in Morale Chant as a safe bet. Since it is useful for every build, there is no reason not to take it early while you decide on what to do with your character.
