Twisted Destiny is an Encounter quest in Where Winds Meet where players will need to reveal the truth about the death of General Wang Qing, a celebrated leader who died under mysterious circumstances in the Jianghu.

  • Travel to the Bamboo Retreat Teleport point in the eastern part of Qinghe’s Verdant Wilds area (shown above).
  • Defeat the three wolves in the courtyard.

  • Investigate the Bloody Sack with a head and the “Challenge to the Cur” bloody note on the broken wooden door right next to the hut’s entrance.
  • Enter the hut and interact with the wardrobe to put on Uncle Jiang’s clothes.

  • Scroll up/down until you see Zi (Rat icon), and select Confirm Change.
  • Fast travel to the General’s Shrine Teleport Boundary Stone.
  • Approach the General Shrine and fight the Headsman until he leaves.

Investigate the Traces Inside the General's Shrine

Investigate the following clues in the General's Shrine (approach them and press the interact key).

  • Two kneeling statues in front of the shrine.
  • Large demon statue facing the kneeling statues.
  • Note on the table in front of the General’s Shrine’s entrance.
  • A letter of confession inside the General’s Shrine, near the General’s statue.
  • The table directly underneath the feet of the General’s statue inside the shrine.

Twisted Destiny Clue Deduction

Now, you’ll need to tie the clues together to deduce the true culprit behind the General’s murder. Link the clues in the following order:

  • What ties do these statues have to Wang Qing?
    • Statue’s Face + Confession Letter

  • How does the killer in the General’s Shrine view Wang Qing?
    • Remember the General’s Teachings + A General’s Death Repaid with Heads

  • What brought the killer to the General’s Shrine?
    • One Who Wronged the General + From Respect to Blind Devotion

  • Where could this person go next? What for?
    • Avenge General Wang Qing + A Resident of Harvestfall Village

Harvestfall Village

Follow the quest marker to head to Harvestfall Village. Here, you’ll need to fight the Headsman again after a bit of dialogue. The fight will stop mid-way through, and you’ll discover that Liu Musan (the villager) isn’t right in the head. Talk to the Headsman and he’ll ask for wine.

Follow the quest marker to obtain a Wine Jar and bring it back to him. He’ll reveal some of Uncle Jiang’s past and how he was taken under the General’s wing when he was young. Exhaust all dialogue, and the main character will put on Jiang’s clothes again.

Return to Harvestfall Village and place the Wine Jar on the bench. After a lengthy cutscene, you’ll need to follow the footprints and find the veteran (Liu Musan). Look for the footprints in the dirt path right next to He Ran (Headsman) and follow them to find Liu Musan again. A final cutscene will play out to reveal what really happened to the General and Jiang in the past, and the quest will be marked complete.
