How to Get a Horse Fast in Where Winds Meet
The quickest and completely free method to get your first horse is simple: steal a horse from an NPC. It might not be the most honorable way, but it works instantly and doesn’t cost you anything. If you walk close to a steed, the Snatch Horse prompt appears. To steal the horse, press F only when you see this option on your screen.
Once you steal the horse, the NPCs will become hostile and try to attack you. It’s a good idea to just mount the horse and ride away immediately to avoid a fight.
You can repeat this trick with any NPC riding a horse in the world. Some areas have groups of mounted NPCs, making it easy to grab a free mount early in the game.
Other Ways To Get A Horse in Where Winds Meet
If one horse isn’t enough, Where Winds Meet gives you several ways to expand your collection. Open the Appearance menu and go to the Mount tab. Here, you’ll find two categories:
- Exploration Rewards: These mounts can be stolen from NPCs or captured in the wild.
- Ingenious: These premium mounts must be purchased or obtained through draws.
Capturing a Wild Horse
If you want a horse without stealing, you can capture and tame a wild one. It’s much harder than stealing, but still doable.
Wild horses are rare, and spotting one takes patience. When you do find one:
- Approach the horse quietly from behind.
- Wait for the Capture Horse prompt to appear.
- Start the taming minigame.
- The minigame is challenging and requires you to quickly match directional keys with the icons that appear on the screen. If you succeed, the wild horse is tamed and added to your collection. If not, the horse runs off. You’ll need really quick reflexes to get a horse in one go.
Buying a Horse from the Shop
Another great way of getting a reliable mount without any hassles is to purchase one from the shop. These will cost either one of Where Winds Meet's many currencies or real money.
From the Main Menu, select Shop and go to the Appearance tab. Then, click on the Horse icon. You’ll find many mount options here, including different horses and even unique creatures. Once purchased, summon your horse using 6 on the keyboard.
You can view all your owned mounts in the Mounts tab under Appearance.
