In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Wild Zone 17 houses some incredible powerhouses for players to catch. In particular, the area is home to Skarmory, Pyroar, and the pre-evolution to Chandelure, all Pokemon that have received new Mega Evolutions in PLZA, which makes them attractive options to add to the main team.
This guide covers the location of all Pokemon found in Wild Zone 17, what time of day they appear in the area, and some important things for players to take note of related to these Pokemon. Here’s the breakdown.
Wild Zone 17 unlocks after players have reached Rank C as part of Main Mission 24.

Diggersby Location
- Time: Day/Night
Right in front of the southern entrance to Wild Zone 17 are three large dig spots, similar to Wild Zone 14. Each of these holes contains a Pokemon, with a high chance of it being Diggersby.
Chespin Location
- Time: Day/Night
Chespin can be found inside the dig holes in the southern section of Wild Zone 17, in the small garden. It is a relatively rare spawn, however, so you may have to reset the zone a couple of times to get it to appear.
All three Pokemon X/Y starters (Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie) can be obtained through certain side quests.
Klefki Location
- Time: Day
Klefki can be found on the rooftops during the day. You can reach the roof using the stairs next to the Pyroar statue, near the northwestern gate. There are only two Klefki spawns: one on the lower section of the roof and one just above it, near the chimneys.
You can switch time of day by resting on the benches inside Wild Zone 17.
Lampent Location
- Time: Night
Lampent spawns on the rooftops at night, at the same place as the Klefki. Use the ladder near the northwestern entrance to climb up. Lampent evolves into
Chandelure using a Dusk Stone.
Pyroar Location
- Time: Day/Night
A large group of female Pyroar roam the large open area in the northern part of Wild Zone 17, next to the stone Pyroar statue. They are all highly aggressive and will attack at once if they catch sight of the trainer. Using Earthquake or Surf is recommended to take all of them out at once.
All Pyroar are asleep at night, making them non-hostile until you attack them.
Skarmory Location
- Time: Day/Night
Skarmory flies back and forth between the Pyroar statue on the upper level and the rooftops. It can roost at ground level or on the roof, and you may have to look around a little to find it. It is not a guaranteed spawn.
Skarmorite can be purchased at the Quasartico Mega Shard Exchange for 240 Mega Shards after completing Main Mission 25.
Alpha Pyroar Location
- Time: Day/Night
A level 57 male Alpha Pyroar can be found standing amidst the pride of female Pyroar. It attacks alongside the others of its species and can be difficult to catch if you don’t defeat the others first.
Pyroar’s Mega Stone, Pyroarite, can only be purchased post-game at the Quasartico Mega Shard Exchange after players have completed Main Mission 37.
Alpha Mawile Location
- Time: Day/Night
A level 57 Alpha Mawile is located on the rooftops near the chimneys. It’s right beside the Klefki spawns, but you can avoid detection if you are careful.
Mawilite is a reward for completing Main Mission 21, which means it should already be in your possession.
