8 Kyotaro Sugishita

The Lone Wolf Of Bofurin

Feared by his classmates in Furin High School due to his cranky personality, Sugishita moves like a lone wolf. Along with his known strength, his loyalty to the head of Bofurin, Umemiya, is unmatched. Anyone who speaks ill of Umemiya in Sugishita’s presence often has another thing coming.

Sugishita showcased his strength in the battle of Bofurin against Shishitoren, a rival team. He was pitted against Arima, a student of Shishitoren, whom he beat with brute force. Arima, while trying to distract Sugishita, condescendingly spoke to Umemiya, knowing his weakness. However, what he did not calculate was the extent of Sugishita’s strength. With rage, completely unfazed by the punch Arima lands on his cheeks, Sugishita grabs Arima by the face and slams him forcefully onto the floor, taking victory as his in what turned out to be a short battle.

7 Suo Hayato

Suo is a calm and easy-going guy with red hair and a black eye patch on his right eye, which he claims to be the seal holding an ancient Chinese spirit. With such a welcoming and outgoing personality, one would not expect his level of strength.

Suo has not appeared in many battles, but his battle during the Bofurin versus Shishitoren was phenomenal. Despite his mostly lighthearted demeanor, Suo takes on a piercing gaze when serious. He is also brutal in battle, humiliating his opponent, a member of Shishitoren, with ease. Suo is a character who embodies strength with class.

6 Sakura Haruka

A Duckling That Intends To Reach The Top Of Bofurin

Having been bullied since childhood because of his characteristic half-white and half-black hair, with one eye golden and the other grey, Sakura grew up with an addiction to strength. With this burning desire, he moved to the town of Makochi to attend Furin High School, a school known for its miscreants ready to take the top spot. He was bewildered when he saw that they protected the people of the town instead of terrorizing them.

Sakura displayed his abilities when he effortlessly defeated Sugishita and in his battle against Togame Jo from Shishitoren. Despite battling a stronger opponent, he had fun during the fight and constantly improved. His movements became smoother, and he was able to react more swiftly to incoming attacks. Though he won the fight by default because Togame gave up at the end, his perseverance and zeal made him appear stronger, making him an impressive upcoming character in terms of strength.

5 Kaji Ren

The Reserved But Chaotic Commander

Affiliation: Bofurin

As the second-year grade Captain in charge of the year one students under Hiragi, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Bofurin, Kaji constantly has his headphones on and a stick sweet in his mouth. He aims to never let down his friends.

Kaji didn't battle until later in the series, when the Bofurin students protected one of their own by fighting against KEEL, a disreputable gang in the town who have a knack for bullying their own. Likewise, he comes into the battle with a clamorous entrance, fighting his opponents with precision and accuracy. The battle against KEEL revealed a side of him that had not been showcased earlier in the anime series.

4 Hiragi Toma

The Heavenly King Of The Vaisravana Unit

Affiliation: Bofurin

As a member of the four heavenly kings of Furin High School, Hiragi Toma is second only to Umemiya and is in charge of the Vaisravana unit. Although he seems upset or stressed out most of the time due to the gang activities, which usually lead to his stomachaches, Hiragi is a strong fighter.

In the competition of Borfurin against Shishitoren, Hiragi battled Suko, his childhood best friend. He proved himself worthy to be second in command when he fought Suko without getting emotional. Hiragi allowed Suko to vent his anger by dodging most of the attacks before charging ahead nonchalantly, keeping his speech to a minimum. He ended the battle and left the stage calmly.

As seen from his battle with Sakura, Togame fights more for Choji than he does for himself. His friend, Choji, wanted to be the best fighter in the school, but heavy is the head that wears the crown. So, Togame took upon himself the responsibility of making the tough decisions in the team so Choji could retain his innocence and keep having fun while fighting.

His battle against Sakura is less of a fight and more of a one-sided pummelling, with Togame having the upper hand, displaying his immense ability to fight. Even though he gave up at the final junction, he would have won the battle if Sakura had not helped him see himself from a different perspective.

Choji Tomiyama, the leader of the Shishitoren team, decided to be the strongest in his school, thinking Umemiya's position was the source of his happiness. On reaching the top, he realized that power is boring and the throne is bland. With each day folding into the next, he began instilling fear into his subordinates, punishing the weak and hoping one of them would get strong enough to battle him.

Umemiya is a carefree and easygoing guy who makes light of most situations and enjoys farming. From planting potatoes to red peppers, he derives joy from the simple things of life.

Umemiya is the best fighter not just due to his strength, but also due to his mentality. With the ability to make anyone feel safe and make them feel like they matter in the grand scheme of things, Umemiya proves that he is worthy of the top spot in this anime series. His fight with Choji Tomiyama also proves his ability to defeat all the characters shown in the series at present.
