With the official announcement of Wind Breaker Season 2, fans of the anime may be eager to see where the story progresses from the end of Season 1. Well, for the unaware, Wind Breaker is a manga adaptation, so for those who can't wait to get more of the story, you can pick up right where the manga left off. If you prefer to remain "anime-only", then here's a preview of what you can expect when Season 2 arrives in 2025.

Where Does Season 1 Of Windbreaker End In The Manga?

The last episode of Season 1, "For a Friend" shares the title and contents of Chapter 41 of the Wind Breaker manga. At this point in the story, the audience is left on a cliffhanger as a major confrontation with another group looms (we see their cool cyberpunk-inspired jackets in the final episode). Eager fans may want to know how long it will take to get to this conflict? Will this be another anime that tries to pad the runtime before diving in? Well, first some details about the next season will have to be established. 13 episode seasons are fairly common when exploring the start of a series, but as with anime like My Hero Academia, it is yet to be seen how or if the anime adaptation of Wind Breaker will function beyond Season 1. That being said though, while the anime format is to-be-determined, the manga wastes no time jumping right into the conflict with this new threat.

Windbreaker Season 2 Will Bring New Antagonists And Even Bigger Fights

If you are one of the many people who fell in love with Wind Breaker due to the strong characters and fight choreography, then the stakes and direction in Season 2 of Wind Breaker should excite you even more. Without spoiling too much, the confrontation with this new group should provide one of the cooler set pieces in the story so far, with the scale and intensity of the fight really presenting a challenge for the cast and even the artist of the series himself. But while the fights are undoubtedly a major drawing point for Wind Breaker, you should also expect to see a lot more character development and exploration, especially for the protagonist, Haruka.

The Conflict Will Be Much More Than Physical

While hand-to-hand combat is usually the fighting style of choice for Wind Breaker, one of the stronger parts of the story is exploring what characters are fighting for. For the protagonist Haruka, this question has been present since chapter and episode 1, and the challenges to this question will only intensify throughout the next season of the anime and beyond. While more antagonists will come to challenge Haruka's combat abilities, he will also have to develop new skills to challenge the fights that can't be so easily won with his fists. What is his place with the Bofurin? What are all of these fights building towards?

You'll Find Many New Characters To Love

With Season 1 of Wind Breaker already providing a strong and charismatic cast, the series finds a way to continually add more characters without watering down the existing ones. While new challenging antagonists will appear, Haruka will also find new allies to care for him and assist him in his growth, namely further introductions to some of the Heavenly Kings. Tsubakino is one of the highlight characters of the manga, with their backstory being one of the stronger entries in the story. If you find it easy to root for Haruka, then Tsubakino is sure to rise to the top of your list for their dedication to their friends and the cause of the Bofurin.
