Now, CDPR has unveiled the new gameplay footage of The Witcher 4 during the State of Unreal event. The video shows over nine minutes of gameplay, depicting Ciri as she rides her horse Kelpie in the wilds and visits the region of Kovir, talking to a contractor. Some of the highlights of the footage include high-density foliage created using Unreal Engine 5, as well as a lively town, which has NPCs doing several actions simultaneously, such as selling goods, throwing drunks out of taverns, or just living their ordinary lives. It’s worth pointing out, however, that this is not actual footage of the game, but rather a “tech demo,” so the areas shown may not be representative of The Witcher 4 when it launches in the future. This could be reassuring for open-world fans, as despite the game looking gorgeous, some of the areas shown in the trailer do seem somewhat linear.

As the hype for The Witcher 4 continues to grow, so too do the sales of its predecessor. Last week, it was revealed that The Witcher 3 has already sold over 60 million copies as the game reached its 10th anniversary, nearing Skyrim’s sales. Hopefully, The Witcher 4 will also be a big hit, reaching the heights of its predecessor.
