Rings are one of the three magical items the Preyer can equip from the Workbench in the Hermitorium before departing for each expedition in Witchfire. They are imbued with unique powers that improve the players' dashing ability, which is also a mechanic they must quickly learn to maneuver around the battlefield.

Dashing is the equivalent of dodging in Witchfire. It teleports players a certain distance, allowing them to avoid enemy attacks or maintain distance. Considering how healing is a luxury in Witchfire, one of the best ways to not get hit is to master dashing. Rings make it so that every time players dash, they are also activating another power.

Witchfire features six magical rings at the time of writing but is expected to add more by the time it leaves early access in 2025. This list will be updated when more rings are added to the gear pool.

Rings become available in the Workshop after hitting player level 15. Some classes, however, start with a ring already unlocked. Below are the best rings players should save their Gold and Incantations for in Witchfire.

While they only impact your early game, their starting loadouts make some classes better than the rest in Witchfire.

6 Ring of Obedience

Dash to Pull Enemies

Witchfire - Ring of Obedience
Enemies get pulled in the direction you dash in Witchfire.

How to Get

Third ring researched via the Workshop

Element

None

The Ring of Obedience expects players to put in a lot of work to get the most value from its ability, which is probably why it stands as one of the least popular rings in Witchfire. Enemies hit with a weapon or spell are marked. They will always be pushed into the direction players dash while also taking damage with each push.

Killing enemies marked by the Ring of Obedience regenerates Stamina points, and pushing non-Elite enemies three times stuns them. While all that sounds useful, the Ring of Obedience only activates if players are looking at the marked enemies. This makes combat highly complicated because players must specifically focus on wounded enemies, and ensure that they do not accidentally pull any major ones towards their location.

Every other ring in Witchfire offers a lot more value in comparison, and abilities that are easy to trigger.

5 Ring of Thorns

Dash to Punish Enemies

Witchfire - Ring of Thorns
Punish enemies by dodging their attacks in Witchfire.

How to Get

Fifth ring researched via the Workshop

Element

Earth (Decay)

The Ring of Thorns serves two purposes in Witchfire. Firstly, dodging attacks by dashing applies Decay to enemies. Secondly, killing enemies before the Decay expires recharges light and heavy spells faster, and has a chance to drop an ammo orb.

Replenishing ammunition can be handy in ammo-scarce locations like the Irongate Castle and the Wailing Tower. However, players likely learn how to save their ammo by the time they hit Gnosis 3 and 4. Combining spells such as Burning Stake and Stormball can clear entire rooms while also recharging both spells. Hangfire, Hunger, and Hypnosis are highly ammo-efficient. Hence, reducing the value the Ring of Thorns gives in Witchfire.

4 Crown of Fire

Dash for a Fire Elemental Buff

Witchfire - Crown of Fire
Give your weapons a temporary fire buff.

How to Get

Fourth ring researched via the Workshop

Element

Fire

Fire is one of the best elements in Witchfire, making the Crown of Fire worthy of attention. It gives the currently equipped weapon a temporary Fire buff to ignite enemies for additional damage. Unfortunately, the buff duration is barely a second.

While fully upgrading the Crown of Fire allows players to triple the duration by dashing twice, most close-ranged weapons like the Echo can already ignite enemies. Also, dashing for the sake of a buff will only leave players without stamina, which is a crucial stat in Witchfire.

3 Ring of Wings

Dash Midair

Witchfire - Ring of Wings
Maneuver midair in Witchfire.

How to Get

Looted from the Scarlet Coast Vault (Requires Gnosis 3)

Element

None

The Ring of Wings is another contender for the best ring in Witchfire. It gives players the ability to dash midair, improving mobility and maneuverability during combat. It is also the only item in the game that grants immunity to fall damage and reduces the Stamina cost for double-jumping (by 30 percent) without investing in Endurance.

The Ring of Wings is perfect for dodging incoming projectiles and enemies while repositioning for a vantage spot. Fly over enemy packs by double-jumping and dashing midair to get some distance before striking them down with critical shots.

2 Ring of Excreta

Dash to Leave Behind a Decay Bomb

Witchfire - Ring of Excreta
Dashing leaves behind a bomb.

How to Get

First ring researched via the Workshop

Element

Earth (Decay)

Just because it is the first ring players unlock does not mean the Ring of Excreta can be ignored. Its crowd-control ability to leave behind a ticking time bomb with every dash is invaluable in Witchfire. Imagine dashing three times in and out of an enemy pack for three bombs. That amounts to 90 damage, enough to bring most enemy types down to 50 percent health inside its explosive radius.

When fully upgraded, the Ring of Excreta applies Decay for additional damage per second. This is useful for players who do not want to pick a spell just to commit to Decay. They still get to bring another element to the fight, which synergizes greatly with Fire and Lightning.

It is easy to see why the Ring of Excreta is one of the best rings in Witchfire.

1 Shadowmist Ring

Dash Through Enemies to Stun Them

Witchfire - Shadowmist Ring
The Shadowmist Ring lets you dash through enemies in Witchfire.

How to Get

Second ring researched via the Workshop

Element

Water (Freeze)

The Shadowmist Ring is the perfect escape and stun tool in Witchfire, especially at higher Gnosis levels where enemies spawn in large packs. It lets players phase through enemies while damaging and freezing them. This makes the Shadowmist Ring especially deadly against major enemies and faithful mini-bosses. Just dash through them for an easy stun and turn around to land a few critical shots for massive damage.

The Shadowmist Ring has a 50 percent chance to freeze, so dashing a couple of times through an enemy guarantees a stun.

The Shadowmist Ring particularly compliments aggressive play with close-range weapons such as the Echo, Cricket, or Rotweaver. Being able to dash through enemies means players never have to worry about getting boxed in again. This makes the game more enjoyable for new players struggling with the game, which is another reason why the Shadowmist Ring is one of the best rings in Witchfire.
