The 2019 Game Awards were filled with plenty of surprise announcements and reveals, including the official reveal of the new Xbox console. Among the many announcements was a surprise from Telltale Games announcing that The Wolf Among Us was in fact not dead like many believed following Telltale's abrupt closure. Telltale released a surprise trailer during The Game Awards teasing the return of the beloved fairy tale game.
Telltale closed its doors back in September 2018 and many fans were worried that beloved games like The Wolf Among Us would not see a new season. However it seems that fans will get to take on the role of Bigby Wolf once more in The Wolf Among Us 2. While the Game Awards trailer was brief, it did show off brief shots of both Bigby and Snow. While there were no hints at a release date for The Wolf Among Us 2, it seems to retain the game's iconic designs and color scheme.

Telltale games were known for their difficult choices and great character writing, which is why many fans were shocked when the studio announced its abrupt closure. When the announcement was made, many fans were worried about their favorite Telltale IPs, like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, though those two games received new episodes after the closure. The Walking Dead received its final season thanks to Skybound Games, and now The Wolf Among Us is getting its second season, too.
The Telltale Batman series is also rumored to be getting a collection that features all episodes of the series. Telltale Batman Shadows Edition is the rumored title of the collection, and was rumored to be announced at The Game Awards alongside The Wolf Among Us 2, though Batman was nowhere to be seen at the show.
While there are no details about The Wolf Among Us 2 just yet, fans are sure to be delighted that the franchise is once again back in development. Telltale Games has been rumored to be making a comeback, retaining the rights to many of their IPs, so perhaps this is the start of that process. Hopefully the continuation of Bigby's story will arrive soon thanks to the help from AdHoc Studio.
The Wolf Among Us 2 is currently in development for unspecified platforms.
