The Wonderful 101 Remastered will be heading both digitally and physically to various platforms soon, after having reached its seventh Kickstarter goal giving players a second new mission. However, the physical release of the game has been delayed due to the novel coronavirus.

In both North America and Europe, The Wonderful 101 Remastered will still be releasing in late May. Although, the physical release has been extended to late June and early July for North America and Europe, respectively.

Thus far, The Wonderful 101 Remastered has had a successful Kickstarter run. Its Kickstarter run launched to a huge success, despite the game's initial lack thereof on the Wii U, its original platform. As mentioned previously, it has since gone on to raise over $2 million since the Kickstarter's launch in early 2020. It has now reached its seventh goal in crowdfunding and currently sits at just over $2.2 million.

The next goal is $2.25 million. The result of reaching it would have been orchestral recordings of "The Won-Stoppable Wonderful 100" and "Tables Turn." However, revenue from Twitch streams has made up for it and is allowing for the composition of the orchestral recordings.

The Wonderful 101 Remastered actually raised over $1 million in just the first day of the Kickstarter crowdfund launch for the game. This goes to show that the game does have a following, or that there were PlatinumGames fans who were curious about The Wonderful 101 to begin with but elected not to purchase a Wii U.

At this point, an eventual sequel to The Wonderful 101 appears more and more likely. After all, Platinum Games is developing new content for the game's remaster after reaching two of the game's Kickstarter goals. This illustrates that the developer may be open other possibilities where future sequels to The Wonderful 101 are concerned.

Platinum Games' most recent release was the highly-acclaimed Astral Chain on Nintendo Switch. While The Wonderful 101 Remastered will be the developer's next release, it is also working on Bayonetta 3 for Nintendo Switch and Babylon's Fall on PS4 and PC.

The Wonderful 101 Remastered will release digitally on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in North America and Europe on May 19 and May 22, respectively, and will release physically on June 30 and July 3.
