Wordle is back today with yet another difficult word for players to ponder over. In order to play, word puzzle fans will first need to learn the rules, a little strategy, and even the spoiler to get through the Wordle of the day with a win.

How To Play Wordle

The first thing new players have to know is where to go to play Wordle. While there are many copycats and clones of the game, the original version is owned and hosted by the New York Times Games. It can only be accessed by heading to the newspaper's site or downloading its Crossword app. Other versions of Wordle can be fun, but they will have different answers than what is listed here. Many even have slightly different rules of how to play as well.

Once in the right spot, players will need to choose a starter word. This word:

Once a great word is chosen, type it into the site. Press enter; this will cause the letters of the words to change color. Each color gives players a clue to the real answer.

  • Green letters are right and in the right place or places in the word.
  • Gray letters are incorrect and won't be in the answer.
  • Yellow letters are right but in the incorrect place or places in the word.

Given these clues, players need to choose a new word that fits them. Type it into the Wordle site, and the letters will again change colors, giving players more hints. The game ends when players either guess the correct answer or run out of their six tries. There is only one puzzle per day for every player, so make sure to use the spoiler-free sharing button to prevent ruining the puzzle for others on social media. Puzzle reset every day at midnight local time.
