Wordle has come out with yet another challenge for fans. Today's five-letter word might be a head scratcher for some, and they might be in search of help with strategy, the rules of how to play, and even the full spoiler to today's puzzle.

How To Play Wordle

In order to get Wordle-ing, players first need to head to the right place. While there have been loads of copycats out there, some of these Wordle clone apps even stirring up some controversy, the original is on the New York Times Games page and New York Times Crossword app. These are the only two spots to see the first version of Wordle which is the subject of this article. Other versions have different answers than what is here, and many can have slight variations in rules as well.

To get started, players need to choose a starting Wordle word. This word should follow some rules:

All Wordle answers will always be five-letter long English words.
Answers will never be offensive words or proper nouns.
While they can be used as guesses, players should avoid both previous answers and plural nouns ending in S or ES, as these cannot be the answer for today.
Players should choose a starting word with five different letters in them, two or three of those being vowels.
Players should choose words with common letters in them, like L, R, or S.

Once a great starting word is chosen, type it into the Wordle site; press enter. This will cause the letters to change colors.

Those letters that turn green are correct.
Letters that become gray are incorrect.
Any letters that turn yellow are right but in the wrong place in the word.

Choose another word that matches the clues from the first word, then type it into the second line of the Wordle grid. Press enter, and its letters will also change colors, giving players even more hints to the word of the day. Wordle ends when players either guess the answer correctly, or they run out of their six total tries. There is only one answer for everyone per day, and that puzzle will reset at midnight local time.
