World of Warcraft recently showed off a bunch of new rewards from the 20th anniversary event, including pets, titles, and the Coldflame service award transmog items. Players can earn these collectibles and more once the 20th anniversary event starts in World of Warcraft on October 22.
To celebrate WoW’s 20-year anniversary on November 23, World of Warcraft is holding the largest event in the game’s long history. Running from October 22 through January 7, World of Warcraft fans can collect event currencies through special activities, instances, and even through normal endgame content from The War Within, all of which can be used to buy tons of rewards.
Now, World of Warcraft has shown off some more of the items players can get from this event. While it had previously revealed many of these items, including the iconic updated Tier 2 armor sets from Classic WoW, a new post on Twitter highlighted several collectibles fans haven’t seen before. Among these, the Coldflame Edge, Bulwark, Winged Crown, and Edged Crest especially stood out – while players had previously seen the matching Coldflame Tempest mount earned from the event’s meta-achievement, this is the first time these service award appearance items have been shown.
WoW Cosmetics Inspired by Blizzard Service Awards
The Coldflame cosmetics were created in the image of the real-life Blizzard service awards given to its employees at various milestones. Developers earn a stein after 2 years working at Blizzard, a sword at year 5, and then a shield, ring, and helm at year 10, 15, and 20 respectively. Now that some players have been playing World of Warcraft for 20 years as well, fans can collect in-game cosmetics that look identical to these real-life relics, save the stein – and they can get them regardless of how long they have been playing the game.

These weren’t the only new collectibles seen in World of Warcraft’s recent teaser. Several new titles, including Karazhan Graduate, Molten Core Prospector, and Plaguelands Survivor are among the many monikers players can earn during the celebration, and the Craggles and Misty pets also haven’t been seen in any previous blogs discussing World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary event. It seems the upcoming celebration may have even more surprises in store for fans.
The 20th anniversary event in World of Warcraft will run for 77 days, giving players over two months to collect all of its new rewards. While the huge hoard of collectibles may seem daunting, World of Warcraft seems confident that fans should be able to earn most, if not all, of the items throughout the event – and any that players miss should return again in subsequent years.
