World of Warcraft just announced the Dastardly Duos Creator Clash, a tournament using the new limited-time event in which world first raiders from Echo and Liquid will compete against one another for supremacy. This special World of Warcraft event will air on Twitch and YouTube on Saturday, June 7.
On June 3, World of Warcraft began Dastardly Duos, a limited-time event where players queue alone or together in groups to face down waves of enemies and iconic bosses from the past, scoring points based on performance, speed, and the ability to stay alive. Beyond bragging rights from earning a high score, fans can earn several toys, achievements, transmogs, gear, and a mount and pet by participating in the six-week event and completing challenges and quests.
World of Warcraft Reveals Lorewalking Rewards, Details
World of Warcraft gives players a closer look at the Lorewalking feature coming in Patch 11.1.7, Legacy of Arathor, including rewards for completion.
Now, to hype up Dastardly Duos, World of Warcraft has announced a new tournament featuring some of the best players in the game. Similar in many ways to World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm Creator Royale, The Dastardly Duos Creator Clash is a cage match starring Echo and Liquid, two of the top world first raiding guilds in WoW, as they compete against one another in the new game mode. Fans can catch this special showdown on the Warcraft Twitch and YouTube channels on June 7 at 10 AM PT, with the 10 competitors from each guild co-streaming their own gameplay on their respective channels.
Echo vs. Liquid In the WoW Dastardly Duos Creator Royale
The Dastardly Duos Creator Clash will be divided into three rounds. The first will feature 10 head-to-head matches where one member from each guild will compete against each other’s high scores in a Dastardly Duos game in World of Warcraft, with the winner earning their team a point. Round two will consist of two matches where five-person teams from each guild will compete to earn five points for their side. The final round will consist of a single match, where the top players from each guild will compete for a whopping 10 points.
Echo and Liquid are currently the top World of Warcraft raiding guilds in the world. EU-based Echo rose to prominence during Mists of Pandaria as Method, where it dominated the majority of world first races for years. Near the end of Battle for Azeroth, a US guild named Complexity Limit claimed world first in Ny’alotha, and again in Castle Nathria during Shadowlands. Method then rebranded to Echo, claiming world firsts from Sanctum of Domination until Aberrus in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Patch 10.1, when Complexity Limit returned under a new name of their own, Liquid. The two guilds have been neck-and-neck ever since, so it is anyone’s guess who might be named the Warcraft-Weight World Champion.
