Summary
- Some World of Warcraft players are frustrated with the difficulty of Delves in World of Warcraft: The War Within.
- Players have realized that soloing a Delve at higher Tiers results in some enemies having higher health than they would in a Duo run.
- Others claim that a fully-geared party would make even high-tier Delves too easy, further contributing to the Delves' imbalance.
Although World of Warcraft: The War Within has only been out for a few weeks, players are taking to social media to air their concerns about the difficulty of the Delves found throughout Khaz Algar. While some World of Warcraft players sent feedback about solo and duo Delves, others offered advice on how they managed to accomplish high-level Delves with their favorite class.
The Delves of The War Within are intended for solo players and groups of two to five players as an alternative way to obtain higher item-level gear, Harbinger's Crests, and Valorstones, alongside doing a rotation of Dungeons, Raids, and various World Quests. The arrival of The War Within's first season brought a new Mythic Dungeon rotation, the Nerub'ar Palace raid, and the addition of Delves at Tiers 4 and higher. Diligent World of Warcraft players who complete higher Tiers of Delves each week can claim a new piece of loot from the Great Vault following the weekly reset on Tuesdays in North America and Wednesdays in Europe.
World of Warcraft Just Gave Earthen a New Racial Ability
World of Warcraft gives the new Earthen allied race in The War Within a brand-new racial ability to aid them as they explore the world of Azeroth.
As World of Warcraft players look towards unlocking higher Delve Tiers on their own time, some took to social media to air some discrepancies they noticed with the feature. On the game's subreddit, various threads dedicated to Delves have cropped up since the launch of The War Within Season 1 on September 10. A user named Kyuuki_Kitsune used their thread's title to point out that soloing a Delve at higher Tiers results in some enemies having higher health than they would if they had another player with them on a Duo run. Players responded with stories from recent solo and duo Delve runs, and how cloth-wearing classes like the Mage and Warlock would take too much unavoidable damage. Others claimed that a fully-geared party would make even high-tier Delves too easy, and further contribute to the Delves' imbalance.
World of Warcraft Players Debate the State of Delves
In another thread, a Reddit user shared what happened when they switched their NPC Delve companion, Brann Bronzebeard, from a Healer to a Damage Dealer. After equipping Brann with a Porcelain Arrowhead Idol and an Amorphous Relic, the player posted a screenshot from their damage meters, showing that the dwarven explorer's damage output could reach high levels and make some Delve runs easier for World of Warcraft parties to accomplish.
Some World of Warcraft players responded with other damage-focused builds for Brann and said that some luck was involved in obtaining the relics they needed to get their builds to work. Between the new season of The War Within and the continued development of Patch 11.0.5, it remains to be seen when Blizzard will address player feedback about the state of Delves.
