World of Warcraft added an item players can buy with Paracausal Flakes that allow them to easily transfer the currency to different characters. This item was hotfixed into World of Warcraft recently and is already available for players.

Paracausal Flakes are the primary currency earned through completing Time Rifts–one of the headlining features of World of Warcraft Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time. Players can purchase minions, mounts, cosmetics, and other collectibles using the Paracausal Flakes they earn by restoring the timeline alongside Soridormi and Chromie.

Now, players can easily transfer Paracausal Flakes between their characters with the Paracausal Crate. This Blizzard account-bound item can be purchased from Shi Everbreeze, the Pandaren weapons and armor vendor in Thaldraszus, for 500 Paracausal Flakes. This item can then be traded to any other character on the same account, after which it can be opened to reclaim all 500 Paracausal Flakes. This enables players to shift around their Flakes at a 1:1 exchange rate, ensuring they can easily consolidate their currency to get the World of Warcraft mounts or other rewards they want.

Normally, a quality-of-life feature like this would have been included in later patches to make farming Time Rifts easier. However, WoW added the Paracausal Crate a week after Fractures in Time launched, meaning it was an idea the developer wanted to implement immediately. With tons of players still doing Time Rifts in World of Warcraft, now is the perfect time for players to earn the rewards they want.

Many players are unsurprisingly glad to have this quality of life feature added so quickly in World of Warcraft. Time Rifts have tons of amazing rewards to earn in them, but farming Paracausal Flakes on a single character can be mind-numbing after a while. Using the Paracausal Crate, players can switch between alts to complete high-reward weekly quests and earn their favorite cosmetics much faster.

That said, this new item does beg the question of why World of Warcraft handles currencies the way it does. Many players have been asking Blizzard to make all currencies account-wide for years–WoW’s new Trading Post feature even has all characters share the same wallet of Traders Tender, proving it has the technology to do so. While World of Warcraft doesn’t seem to have plans to make such a change in the near future, these players hope it happens someday. In the meantime, they can at least rest easy knowing their Paracausal Flakes can be easily exchanged between characters.

World of Warcraft is available now for PC.
