Summary
- Patch 10.2.6 will bring tougher Heroic and Mythic dungeons to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 4 for better rewards.
- The Hearthstone anniversary collaboration in WoW faced portal issues, affecting player loot distribution in the event.
- Blizzard's Season 4 changes, which include no timers in Heroic and Mythic 0 difficulty dungeons, are meant to address player concerns.
With the launch of Patch 10.2.6 approaching, Blizzard posted some changes to dungeons in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 4, which will up the difficulty and rewards for Heroic and Mythic dungeons. The changes will make Heroic and low-rank Mythic Dungeons in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight more relevant for the remainder of the expansion and into The War Within.
The news of these changes arrived a day after World of Warcraft started its limited-time collaboration with Hearthstone to celebrate the latter's 10th anniversary. However, the Hearthstone Anniversary event got off to a shaky start, as issues related to the timing of portals, and player loot distribution, began to creep up and frustrate players looking to claim rewards such as the Compass Rose mount and the Stone of the Hearth toy. While Blizzard reportedly fixed some of the portal issues that showed up in Stormwind, it remains to be seen how effective those fixes will be in addressing players' concerns. The Hearthstone 10th Anniversary event runs until March 18, so World of Warcraft players will not have much time to claim the rewards they want.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic Includes a Controversial New Graphics Option
The World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic beta includes a controversial new graphics option that has players divided into two distinct camps.
As for rewards coming to the game soon, World of Warcraft dungeon enthusiasts are in for some major changes in Season 4. In a Blizzard blog post, the WoW development team noted some important changes to Heroic and Mythic dungeons. The changes will affect all Dragonflight dungeons, which also means that the Season 4 Mythic+ Dungeon rotation will include instances such as Uldaman, Neltharus, and the Azure Vault. While Normal mode and Follower dungeons will remain unchanged, Heroic and low-level Mythic dungeons will see their difficulties and the rewards they offer changed. The changes to dungeon loot between Dragonflight Seasons 3 and 4 are documented in the table below.

While high-level Mythic+ keys will still involve a timer, Blizzard said that both Heroic and Mythic 0 difficulty dungeons will have no timer and give players who want to approach dungeons methodically a chance to do so. Though Blizzard previously stated that Season 4 will not launch immediately with Patch 10.2.6, the changes will bring the dungeons' core difficulty up to better align with seasonal progression and address World of Warcraft players' concerns about Heroic and low-level Mythic Dungeons feeling irrelevant shortly after release. Blizzard compared a Mythic +5 Dungeon in Season 4 to a Mythic +15 Dungeon in Season 3 as an example of what players can expect. The developers then clarified that crests and flightstones would continue to be used to upgrade gear in Season 4, with minor adjustments.
The changes to dungeon gearing and difficulty will also be part of the War Within expansion. As World of Warcraft approaches its 20th year of service, it remains to be seen how these dungeon changes will encourage players to try them out.
